I have shopped from ALL the gem shows in the past and now only from GS. Gem Shopping is my fav to the point it is my white noise I leave on all day. The only gem shopping network that encourages you to learn about gemstones, jewelry BEFORE you waste money on fake/cracked/dyed/reconstituted stones (which they WONT knowingly sell). They ARE a high end seller but you WILL find great sell items Especially on M & D’s and Ben's shows. They sell 99.99% 14k+ gold/quality metals only. When (and that’s rare) they sell anything 10k gold it’s because it is a period piece like an old Victorian (you DON’T change that). It IS getting harder to tell a real stone that hasn’t been treated or fake (which is ok if you know that its fake or treated) in any way with the new treatments out there, it’s very hard to do but Gem Shopping goes out of its way to make sure you get the real stuff. I would like to see them bring back on TV Shawn’s gems/minerals and the collectable shows back. I love Kurt (the clown) and David the pearl hunter(those two are like PB&J) and their pearl shadow box(s-cup) that I even showed some jewelry stores how to view pearls, Mark the Opal hunter(needs to make another DVD of opals & his coffee cup collection), THE Gemstone guru Ben, Deanna(my only fav girl on the show-T's cool but we dont see her much) and Mike=two very classy people that sells REAL Native American jewelry THANK YOU VERY MUCH, Hunter (my wolf-man jack) and Alan’s(undies) quirky jokes. I NEVER EVER had a shipping or a gemstone/jewelry problem or a bad customer services problem that I have done business with them since- yep -THEIR TV DEBUTE ALL THOSE YEARS WAY BACK,(God only knows how many gemstone I have) but then again I know what I am looking, ask questions and know my gemstones/jewelry and I don’t attack the customer service reps. TO THE PEOPLE WHO SAY THOSE WHO GIVE 5 STARS ARE NOT REAL REVIEWERS and they don’t post negative feedback-I SAY BULL##@@ TO YOU! THERE IS NO PERFECT STORE and I AM THE REAL REVIEWER WHO BUYS FROM THEM and I recognize a lot of these reviewers from watching GS over all those years and learn my stuff from multiple sites like the great people of the IIJA...
Read moreI made many purchases on Gem Shopping Network, and you would think they would take better care of a good customer, however, in the past year and a half, I have been having some bad experiences with Gem Shopping Network. In March 2016 on Easter I bid on a beautiful Santa Maria Aquamarine ring cut by Ben Kho. I was told I won the ring, but mysteriously it was sold to someone else right after I was assured that ring was mine! No one could explain what happened, but everything was on tape. Ben Kho said he'd make another ring just like that one, but he had to wait till he got the stone. More than a year has passed and after many phone calls inquiring about when I could expect this Santa Maria Aquamarine ring, I received the same response: "Ben hasn't forgotten, but he hasn't found the right stone yet". On one occasion, unbeknownst to me, Ben sent a ring that looked nothing like the one I won over a year ago; it wasn't a Santa Maria Aquamarine, not the same ring style nor stone shape or gold setting. On top of that I was charged for this unrequested ring! In the past when I've made purchases, Gem Shopping Network was accommodating about resizing rings, or changing the setting, exchanges, and returns. I like to make purchases to surprise my wife when she returns home after being out of state for many months dealing with family emergencies. However lately, when I called Gem Shopping Customer Service explaining that I wanted to return a ring that my wife didn't like, I was told I couldn't return the ring; it was past the 45 day return policy! When I explained the reason for the delay, that it was held as a gift to surprise my wife when she returned home, I was told that when I buy anything, I should ask for a Return Authorization Number for each jewelry item purchased at that time, just in case I need to return any of the items! This seems preposterous when making purchases ! For these reasons I am disappointed in Gem Shopping Network and feel this company only...
