I used to bring my dog here to swim and put down my inflatable kayak from the ramp and go down river to 120 ramp but they had closed the entire area for a big project for the past fews years. Today I went by to check what's going on and saw a new pedestrian walking bridge over the old Rogers Bridge with a lot of paved walking trails and a new building near the bridge for unknown purposes. There are still many fenced up areas, no renderings of what's to come and a fence that stops pedestrians from getting down the ramp to the river. I saw a couple of guys who went around the fence fishing in the river though. I am hoping they will provide more parking spaces and a way for people to go kayaking on the river soon. There used to be a company who offered tubing from this location down the river to 120 ramp but I guess they went out of business since this project has taken so long and still it is incomplete. Read moreIt's a very good park to go and walk. It has a beautiful view of the Chattahoochee river. My only advice to the authorities, don't put more dog parks, I think we have enough. We really need more natural parks, with no playgrounds and dog parks. Our children, pets and us need more Forest in the cities. More trees and bushes with flowers to enjoy. Don't get me wrong I love kids and pets (I have them at home), but I truly believe that nature is what we all need the most. We already have a lot of dog parks and playgrounds. We need places to stop and relax and ponder and listen and look at the birds. I love Georgia and I think we are cutting too many trees! This is my opinion and I hope you can consider...
Read moreWe haven't been here for several years and oh my what great improvements they've made. Fantastic walking paths, beautiful green space for your pup, a boat launch which is open to anyone. We watched someone assemble their canoe-in-a-bag and head out into the beautiful, calm Chattahoochee River. The new bridge was designed to replicate the original 1912 truss bridge and it joins Rogers Bridge Park with the park on the other side, so even more walking space. The bathrooms are clean and the pavilion is beautiful with plenty of picnic tables. Parking is plentiful and the Chattapoochee Dog Park is right on the same street as...
