Your Dads Barber Shop — Attraction in Dunedin

June 2, 2020: If I could give this shop NO STARS, I would.

I went in as a first-time customer. I noticed NO ONE, ESPECIALLY THE BARBER, was wearing a MASK. When I asked if he'd wear a mask when cutting my hair, he pointed to the mask he had wrapped around his shoulder and said, 'There's my mask and there's where it'll stay. If you don't like it, leave.'

Obviously, he doesn't care about Covid-19/CDC guidelines -- especially in a business like his with barber hovering over the customer -- and both barber and customer talking nonstop. His attitude about safety and disease mitigation is quite typical of the bloviating, rude, redneck set. False machismo at its finest.

If he doesn't care about himself, he should care about his customers. When YOU wear a mask you protect OTHERS from you. But, obviously, he's making a POLITICAL statement --...

Pete was amazing!! I came in early Saturday Morning(8:30), there was no wait. He cut both of my sons hair, age 6 & 3. He was very engaging with them & made them feel safe around the clippers! He joked around with my 6 y/o & even though my 3 y/o put up a fight he was able to give him a good haircut!! This place is clean & kid friendly! He has a toy car that kids can play in before the haircut and he brought out some small toy cars to keep my 3y/o entertained during his haircut. He was fast, we were in and out in less than an hour. And you can’t beat the price! $10 per haircut. All in all I would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back!! Thanks Pete! I forgot to add, this place is cash only! So make sure you take out cash...

After 7 years of being a loyal customer here, I am sorry to say Pete has flipped his wig! I went in for my normal haircut and he must have been in a mood, bad day, or something wasn't right with him...He asked me to leave as I was the only one there and said that he was closed and to get a haircut somewhere else. I know he has his lunch hour and have been asked to come back before, but this was totally uncalled for and unprofessional- it's no wonder he has so much turnover there. After reading other reviews, it makes total sense now. Needless to say, I went to my local barber where I live and will gladly pay double rather than deal with...
