First off we find Lucky Lobster because she is looking for a server position and they have an ad looking for one, so we go to check the place out about 430pm. We were looking for a place to park and there were a couple of street parking spots available but with my monster truck, I was still trying to find an easy spot to get in and out of. When I see a gentleman nicely dressed wearing a blue sweater opening a gate with a sign indicating additional parking for Lucky Lobster. So I pull up as he's opening it and put down the passenger window. He asks, "Going into the Lucky?" Yeap. He says can you put it in the corner this is a big truck. Yeap can I back in to make it easier to get out? Sure. He moves some cones and shows me where and the direction he wants it facing. So we park and head inside. Meet the hostess and ask for a table as she explains she is interested in the server position as well, the hostess says we will have to talk to Tom the General Manager, I'll let him know. I ask her is he, the gentleman in a blue sweater over there? She says, sure is how did you know? Good guess. Let him know the monster truck people would like to talk with him. He again sees us walk by him as we are being seated and he smiles as we walk past him. Then we meet our server Norman (The Mustache Man😄). Wonderful speaker and describes their specials in detail cokes around beside the table where can both hear him better, because there's a private party of people just starting to fill up the place too. He comes back minor issue with their iced tea. He has fresh being made and it will be out shortly. No issue thanks for not bringing it out since he noticed an issue. It was there so quick we would have not noticed the timing delay if he hadn't told us. We again discuss a couple off items we were considering to come to order at his recommendation the Shrimp, Lobster, smoked Gouda, Sriracha, Aioli pizza 14" again at his recommendation. He sets up the table with pizza rack etc. We continue watching the people, staff etc. both make the comment, wow this is a place you'd be proud to work at. Such professionals, great clientele, great menu, staffed all look and act professionally. So here comes Tom the General Manager with a Pizza in his hand. Now I had not notice him deliver anyone else's meals, but he was constantly on the move and busy doing many tasks. He serves each of us a slice onto our plates. Short conversation, he has just hired two people for the position already, but come by tomorrow and fill out an application for me anyways, wait tomorrow is Friday and we are really backed up the next 2 weeks with Thanksgiving etc. Make it Monday. Then ...OMG. This thing is so delicious from the crust to every bit of each individual ingredient taste all combined together! Different, who would have thought that combination but just unbelievably delicious. Now I want to try everything on their menu. Norman brings out a small dish of lobster bisque for the pizza crust dipping. Oh yes, that's perfect and now I'm gonna have to come back for a bowl of that! The party is for a group of local volunteers for the needy. Wonderful people and we speak to a couple ladies from their group standing near us and give them our 2 chairs from the table we weren't using. We pay our bill and head out. As I hear a voice from behind me, "How was your Pizza?" Wonderful! Great time and experience, thank you so much what a wonderful experience. He thanks us for coming in. No wonder he's been with these folks for so long and is the General Manager of...
Read moreHaven't been here in a few years due to hit or miss food quality but decided to take a friend from out of town there last week as he was really craving a lobster roll and Lucky Lobster was the only place we could find locally. We'll I'm sorry I did. First I'll start with his $35.00 lobster roll. When the sever placed his plate in front of him, literally both our mouths dropped. There was one, I dunno, 4 1/2 inch, maybe 5 inch at the most, lobster roll on his plate. It was literally the size of a slider. It was not a full size lobster roll and we were both shocked that not only is $35.00 expensive for a lobster roll served with French fries and slaw, but insulting that they would serve the portion they did. It looked like a kids meal on the plate. Anywhere I've ordered a lobster roll out, I've always paid $20 to $$30 bucks for it depending on the scale of the restaurant, and it was ALWAYS served on a full size long bun. Absolutely disgraceful on Lucky Lobster's part in my opinion. He also got the lobster Bisque which both of agreed lacked flavor and richness. There was zero taste of Sherry or any other acidic base too it to elevate the flavor from a basic stock flavor base. I got the stuffed clams and they had a great flavor and the class were left whole rather than chopped and I did enjoy them. The issue though....they were loaded with sand and small pieces of the shell or something. Not appropriate for a seafood restaurant. Make sure your class are rinsed thoroughly before you stuff them! I also got the chowder which was actually very good. Very creamy and great flavor. Our waiter was outstanding. With that said, it will probably be another 2 years before I try Lucky Lobster again as once again, the food fell flat and mostly...
Read moreTL;DR - likely a great spot to listen to live music and have a few beers but skip a full blown dinner. There are many more places within walking distance that know how to do dinner properly.
My family and I went to Lucky Lobster for the first time last night. We were seated within 10 minutes which was great for a party of 9. Unfortunately, the rest of the evening didn’t go that way. It took our server 20 minutes to get our drinks to us… mind you only 2 cocktails were ordered, the rest were beer, wine, soda.
By the time our drinks were finished we still hadn’t been able to get the attention of our server to put in our orders, although I had a clear view of her running drinks behind the bar to other tables. We were seated for over an hour before she came by to take our dinner orders.
Another 30 minutes went by and we asked gently if our meals would be coming out soon, she claimed that WE had just place our orders (like it was our fault it took so long) and that usually the kitchen is quicker.
The meals came out about 45 minutes after we had ordered and the food was just fine. I give it 3 stars for the flavor but 2 stars if I’m considering the price. $24 for a small Greek salad without potato salad is laughable.
We all finished our meals and drinks and no surprise we sat at our table until 9:15pm waiting for the check. When our server finally came around with the check my grandfather pulled her aside to share about the poor experience that we had and our server took zero accountability, blamed the kitchen and the unprecedented busy night and rolled her eyes at his remarks.
I understand the likelihood that the restaurant was understaffed but blaming the kitchen and rolling your eyes at a customer is never an...
