Schiel's Family Market — Attraction in Dunmore

I absolutely loved this place until yesterday, shopping here i was mortified by the staff (2 managers and a regular employee) I had a friend visiting from out of state so he and i went to get food for him and my husband. We were on line checking out when a dollar section pair of screw drivers wouldn't scan so or cashier asked a man to do a price check. He went to the isle (2 isles away from where he was standing prior) he couldn't find a price for some reason. I said okay its no big deal were just not going to grab them sorry. The man had gone to customer service to if they could find a price. Our cashier yelled over never mind they're not going too grab them its okay. That should have been the end of it but instead he shouted at my friend and me "oh yea of course you're not gonna take em" my friend and i were shocked and waited for one off the two managers standing there to say something. Neither did. My friend asked if there was an issue and if we should go over there to discuss it. No one answered, instead they all stared at us like they wanted us dead. I was really amazed that even managers thought this was an acceptable way to act. So we load our cart and walk to the car, would you believe this man FOLLOWED US OUTSIDE! He sat in the parking lot arms folded in front of the door smoking a cigarette while children tried walking around him. We packed up our car quickly and he sat there smoking in a door way(disgusting) while we did. My guy friend was annoyed and asked the man to stop staring that it was rude and he smiled so we said we'd report him to the owners. Only then did he care and took off toward the entrance of the building on the other side. Ill never shop there again even though i did about 2x a week since its right by my home. I will say the store is nice, a little pricey on some items, but pretty ok selection wise. Wish they'd care more about treatment...

I have shopped at riccardos for a few years now and have always loved it. the experience I had today made me absolutely sick to my stomach. I witnessed not one but 2 different employees yelling at another employee in front of numerous customers. It is one thing to be upset with a fellow coworker and have words for them, BUT there is a time and a place for that and in the middle of the store in front of customers is NOT that place. To make matters even worse I of course had words to say about the situation, because I was taught to stick up for people being bullied and in my eyes that was point blank bullying. as I was walking out I apologized to the lady who was yelled at, wished for her to have a better day, and then dealt with yet another employee talking back to ME when I wasn't even speaking to her. Absolutely DISGUSTING. How you can treat a fellow coworker so savagly is beyond me and how it is allowed for employees to act that way is something I will never understand. To the lady who was being treated that way, I sure hope she is apologized to. Zero respect for our fellow humans anymore and that was proof enough right there.

Editing: I would like to personally thank the owner for taking time to apologize on behalf of this situation. I will of course continue to shop with you and am very happy something is being done! That truly shows respect and consideration for your customer base....

Omg, this place has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. I have never actually bothered to share my customer service experience and I can’t believe it’s going to be for something so petty. I buy most of my groceries here and there produce turns out bad quite often, but I don’t bother with it because they are perishable items so t happens. But, I bought a jar of hummus here and when I got home and opened it, it had gone bad so the other night I went back and told them and I was told to bring it in with receipt and they will return it. So I went back today and the manager was SO rude. I have never met anyone so entitled and condescending. I am appalled at this behavior. I was told that since the hummus didn’t have an expiration date on the jar (yeah, because it’s my job to put those dates) and it was cold, it’s not their fault that it was bad.
