Our experience at The Miller Center has been great until recently. The front desk assistants have recently changed and it has been nothing but poor customer service and constant push back since. Three weekends in a row now, my son and his guest(s) have been denied access to the facility for various reasons. Last week, my son and his guest(s) got day passes. They stayed and played for a bit and then left to go get lunch at Giant probably gone 20-30 mins. When they got back, the front desk would not let them stay without paying again for new passes. I called to speak with management, and just like usual, “Sorry, it’s just me today. No one is available.” Today, it was because their internet was down and they could not produce a guest pass on my account for my son’s guest or take payment. We have bought numerous guest passes on our account and have been loyal members. Lexie, todays front desk gem, said there was nothing she could do and sent us away instead of letting the two boys stay and play and allow me to make the $10 guest pass payment once their service had been restored or offer to put a note on my account that I owe for a guest pass. The issue was on their end, not mine. That would have been the right thing to do from a customer service standpoint. We’ve dealt with continual non-sense from these guys for the past month and today I voiced my frustration about it all. After I explained and turned to walk out, Lexie had the nerve to tell me that I’m rude and not to come back. We pay almost $70/month for membership to continually be turned away from utilizing the facility for various reasons. I DO NOT recommend getting a membership here…a few months ago, I would have encouraged anybody to, but at this point, I certainly do not want any of my friends or family to have to deal with the poor customer service...
Read morePlace looks nice and big and modern. Prob great for parents that want to drop of kids in a play area classroom and forget them and go exercise.
It needs more open activities for kids not signed up for sports , the place was filled, when I asked when stuff was open for the week it took 10 mins to find had so small windows of open area Here and there throughout the week, and it was not online and was told had to call to find out. I just wanted to cancel my membership already.
just a open area for all Kids to run and play. All that area you think they have a place or rotate a open area all times for kids play run/throw/basketball whatever we need to keep children active. I guess we signed up more for them , then for us and was disappointed there was not area at all times for them to do something With them, I guess kinda my fault to for not asking enough ?, I assume a rec center would have something all time For them to do even if the open area changed every day/evening. Just my thoughts
Responding to owner below: As simple. Always Keep a area open for walk-in members with just standard membership,
Yea all the walk in members Would have share the area but I sure that can be handled. I understand if you only had one court but you have multiple
Only 2 things I found for walk in kids/family can to do is basketball and turf and if those are seamed More scheduled then opened there is nothing for them beside playing with toys In the care area which they can do at home and not getting any real activity and don’t need a pay a membership for to do that.
Just my thoughts, not that it will make a difference, we keep looking for and trying to figure. Thanks for...
Read moreFinally made it in to get memberships for the kids and I. Getting over a knee injury, so I didn't want to waste money. Looks like there's a lot of activities to take advantage of, especially if your kids are into basketball.
So, there are two types of memberships - the fitness center, which seems fairly expensive at $45 per month IF you pay annually; and the sports and recreation membership, which runs $10 per person per month if you pay annually, or double that if paying monthly (that seems a bit high to me). The sports and rec pass is needed if you want to participate in any of the activities offered by the center. That membership also gives you free reign to use the sports facilities if there is nothing scheduled on a particular court. There are four hard courts and a turf field.
One thing I'd have liked to see, as a professional wildland firefighter, is a discount for police and firefighters. It is, however, close to home, and I have no problem with my kids spending time here, so... give and take. I'm also expecting to see an increase in the programs offered, as the place gains momentum in the community.
Another thing that could help is a cleaner interface for their online calendar. I find it somewhat unwieldy trying to find activities, especially on my phone - which, let's face it, is where most of us do business these days.
Overall, I'm looking forward to spending time here. It is a very...
