Decided to try this restaurant at the recommendation of someone else, and I am always happy to support small local restaurants. That being said... My wife and I were seated at a table in a very poor state of disrepair, it wobbled and spun on it's center support, which is not a great first impression. We ordered nachos as an appetizer and added steak. The attached images are from the website, but the menu on location shows the same thing. Steak is supposed to a $3 upcharge, and yet we were charged $4 for the steak, which was not in sufficient portion to warrant the price asked for it. The queso was also more of a chili cheese sauce than a queso, and it was very obvious that it was a bit old as the consistency became odd as it cooled. I ordered the ribeye, as medium rare and the flavor was very good, but as can be seen in the picture this is much closer to rare or even blue than anything else. Good thing I like rare steaks... but when I ask for medium rare that's what I expect. Additionally the further across the steak I went the less done it became. To top this off, or not... the herb butter garnish was missing. The fries on the other hand were excellent! My wife enjoyed her fish tacos that she ordered, but didn't notice there was an upcharge for the Mahi tacos as it is buried in the entree description. I personally can't recommend this restaurant as a place to go myself, but each person's experience can be different, so I'll leave it up to you if you want to check it out. There is a ton of potential here.

Bull Run Tap House, located on Market Street in historic downtown Lewisburg, is the ultimate hangout spot in town! Open until 2 AM, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a long day or enjoy a lively night out in a vibrant setting. The atmosphere is energetic and inviting, making it a favorite gathering place, especially for Bucknell University students. The extensive menu features a wide array of delicious options that cater to all tastes, and everything we tried was fantastic. The tap house also boasts a nice selection of beers and mixed drinks, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy while socializing. With pool tables and various games available, Bull Run Tap House adds an extra layer of fun to the experience. It truly feels like a community hub where friends can come together, relax, and have a great time. Overall, Bull Run Tap House is a good destination in historic downtown Lewisburg, combining great food, a lively ambiance, and a welcoming vibe that makes it the go-to spot for locals and students alike!

The food was great and the drinks were awesome! 😋 I had the black and bleu burger (Which is blackened with cajun spices and topped with a mild creamy bleu cheese.) with sweet potato fries and some pickles on the side as a pallet cleanser. Which is always a nice touch to see. I also got two tequila sunrises which weren't super strong, but still a nice addition as always. My sister got the fish and chips with coleslaw. She also had a stone mocha IPA and we finished it off with a slice of peanut butter pie which she said paired well with her IPA. The peanut butter pie was very sweet and rich without the peanut butter being too overwhelming and the chocolate syrup and whipped cream sent it over the top.

Jus had a pretty poor experience at Bull Run. 5 of us ate and most of us had meals that we hope can be quickly forgotten. For a place that has a Flatbread of the Day on their menu, I would have expected something that at least had some flavor to it.

At least if the meal isn't great, you would hope you could get a server with a bright personality that was quick to get food and drinks to you, but unfortunately this wasn't the case. I'm thinking our server was trying to spare us the pain of eating the meal. She probably decided, since we were not getting up to leave, that she had no choice and was slightly embarrassed.

I gave it 2 stars because I found parking right in front, but if you can't find that, I'd just pass on by.

------ Contrary to what some may think, management "fixing" poor service and sub-par food for a patron during their visit isn't practical and there is very little that can be done to fix the issue to the satisfaction of the customer. Especially if the customer feels that they've already wasted enough of their time and money.

If an establishment really wants to fix issues for the future, use these critical reviews as a way to better the operation....or don't, it probably won't affect customers that have already been driven...

I just went to the Bull Run Tap House for a Troeg’s tap takeover. I went with two other people and we each ordered a Troeg’s beer to get the free glass. When the third person ordered a beer, the waitress told us they were all out of glasses. She was also very rude when informing us they ran out and implied that one person was trying to get multiple glasses. There were three of us and only two people had received their glasses. It was also very surprising that they had run out of glasses because the place was completely dead. Despite the waitress being rude about the glass situation, I had ordered a burger medium rare that came out well done. So that was disappointing that a tap house could not even cook their burgers properly. We received our checks, gave a decent tip for the service and treatment we had received, and then a table right next to us received glasses after we had been told there were no more. This really upset us. I went up to the bar and asked about this and the bartender was also very rude but reluctantly handed me the glass for the beer we paid for. This experience was awful and I will never be returning here. These people were very rude and need to learn how to treat...
