08/18/2024 fridge worked 7 days this month now, once again, it is not. This fridge has been in our home mostly not working since july 5. Still got my $ k&a. And whirlpool, are you ever going to get this out of our home $ refund us. SOMEBODY step up, PLEASE. 07/30/24 last post. Whirlpool 33" wide model WRS331SDHM, or anything similar is the one to look out for. Widespread problems. Many have shared their stories with me. I am grateful for those folks & all that have supported Butch & I. Judging from what others have shared we are in for 3-6 repairs from whirlpool to look forward to, parts being ordered, not stocked. (Stall tactic) Then whirlpool will buy us out, 1-2 more months is the average time we are hearing from others. We have identified new appliance dealer, but yet to find a new fridge we feel has a good change of serving us well. None are made like they used to be. We At least this dealer will have our back. K& A is scratch & dent "as is ". It comes in your home, you own it, even it does not cool your food to safe temp, at least until whirlpool reacts. Thanks to each & every one of you who have had our back. With gratitude, Peg & Butch 07/ 29/24. Pete it has entered 2nd month since we paid for working fridge & do not have one. I asked if you would take this one back (for repairs) and provide loaner. I know you are busy, Mondays always are in your line of work, but please answer ASAP. Gets more difficult by the day to be without fridge. Peg 07/ 27/24. Pete, Exact same model was reduced in price since we purchased, I simply asked for price matching with current price as way of K & A helping showing they cared about our $ loss; food spoilage, generous tips to delivery & set up folks (well deserved) but many more frequent than should be AND the $333 given to electrician as your co. Said they suspected lack of adequate power. There was lost wages, as I cook & deliver food & could not do. Price of cooler & ice daily, regular restaurant meals that would not be our normal pattern. No, was answer to any refunded $. The fridge we opted for was $251 more. Only difference from 1st one was wire racks in freezer, & I believe newer year of production. I asked if 251 could please be waived to compensate us. NO, but delivery could be. Wow. We walked out. At home & breathing again, my 81yo husband , with chronic illness that was being exacerbated by this stress, asked if I could agree to pay & get that fridge delivered. Next day delivery Pete, was only offered after I called and pleaded several times. Original date offered was next week as "our paperwork would take time to process". Was done immediately during original purchase. . The one thing I admit I am confused about is why fridge stayed up to temp 4 days at your venue, when in our home it began to fail by day 3, total failure by day 4 freezer at 33 degrees, fridge at 66. Unsafe. Both fridges mimicked same symptoms. I told you & Amauris that this remains mystery. When I asked for loaner to be returned: NO. Only for customers with fridge in for repairs. But my broken one has to stay here to be looked at by Whirlpool Service folks! Or could it be checked out at K & A by Whirlpool & I could then receive loaner? Would that work? Or exchange for model that is reduced this month ( you have many) again with delivery fee waived again? Is there anything we can work out? Respectfully, Peg
UPDATE : 07/26/2024 - From time of this purchase on 06/28/24 & still today, we do not have working refrigerator. Total help from K & A = 4 days of loaner fridge. They have appliances on floor that are defective, a part of class action lawsuit, but sell anyway. No need for them to take back as they sell "as is", in very small print. Owners name is Amauris. He afforded me one call asking what he can do to "make me happy". Has not yet provided working fridge requested & paid for. Stress & financial hit mounting as I speak. Probably be a response from this co. saying I am difficult & maybe even unstable.....I was not either of these before...
Read moreHonestly, a year ago this would have been a 5 star review. We had purchased several appliances here without a hitch. This dryer has been an unmitigated disaster. The first crew staunchly refused to even attempt to get the dryer into our basement. A harrowing journey of 4 (4 inch tall, 11 inch deep) steps... in a straight line. They claimed they could not fit the 26 3/4in wide dryer through the 29 1/2 inch door. Then they claimed there was a hand rail in the way... I had removed the hand rail the pervious night and left it out of the way in a separate area. When I pointed out both that I knew those measurements, and that the hand rail in question was disassembled and stored elsewhere, they sheepishly claimed they would try "again" (read: for the first time) and a minute and 45 seconds later it was in the basement. Then they "couldn't find" the gas shutoff valve I pointed out to them. They left, a new crew come out two days later. They barely look around and leave, claiming they cannot use the valve. No clarification, they just "can't use it". There are no other appliances on the line after that valve. I paid extra for them to install the dryer and take the old one away. As it stands now the new dryer is not installed and the old one is still in my basement. This is inexcusable.
Edit: they are now telling me the gas shut off valve is not in fact a gas shut off valve. Which is funny, because I have now had an independent plumber come out and, shocking nobody, it is in fact a shut off valve. Twist it, flow stops, turn it back, flow starts back up.
It has become obvious that these people just had no desire whatsoever to do their jobs. I now have a nice idiot proof valve right behind the dryer for the next crew. Took all of 20 minutes for an actually competent professional to install and check everything for leaks. I will never do business with this company again. At every turn they were incompetent and dishonest.
Edit 2: This owner is either complicit or being sold a bill of goods by his lazy employees. They didn't disassemble a blessed thing, They just never made any attempt whatsoever to bring it down the stairs the first time. When pressed to actually do their jobs it came down with no hassle, and no risk of damage to the dryer or the door. Just shy of 2 inches of clearance is significant, that first team just never even made an effort.
Edit 3: they now want to charge us an additional charge to come pick up the dryer that they had previously said they would pick up for free... Reminder, this dryer is only still at our house because of their...
Read moreI’d like to tell you about an experience I had the other day with this company. I was rather shocked as my previous experiences had been rather mediocre. I was headed out to move my car when the delivery men arrived. I was in a hurry trying to get my two 7 year-olds out the door and catch our small dog at the same time, I could not find my keys and was feeling flustered. I told the man I was trying to move my car, they shouted, no worries! Leave your car there! Which meant that they would have to travel with my dryer even further up my long driveway to the destination, however, they did not seem to care if it made my life easier. As they were installing the dryer they noticed my older tubing had several holes, and for some reason my husband and I were intending on keeping it. They immediately went out to the truck and replaced the vent tubing for us and said that it would be much safer that way. We also tried to salvage an older dryer cord which was also missing a prong. They said, we sell new cords for $10 and have them out in the truck. I was so grateful that for some reason I just happened to have $10 on me and was able to get the cord for our dryer. Not to mention that $10 is a great price for a cord. Compared to competitors prices that cord was half the price of other cords being sold at other appliance stores. The biggest note of generosity was when they were moving my washer slightly over to get the dryer in, that’s when we all noticed a large puddle. I could have cried. I knew my washer was not working very well last week, but I tried to ignore that fact. The gentleman pointed out to me that not only was there a crack in the washer hose, but the hose that was on the washing machine was no longer being sold. One of the men said he had a hose in his truck and he could fix the problem in a couple of minutes. I went from feeling complete frustration to complete happiness. These gentlemen really made my day. They came to my house to deliver a dryer and they left my house having delivered a dryer with a sense of well-being. Thank you Angel...
