I had my nails done on a Thursday by Maria, she became upset when I told her that I didn't like the freestyle she put on two of my nails. She began speaking about me in spanish in front of me. I didn't leave a tip. It was evident that she didn't do a very good job because on Saturday my nails were chipping and one (which I pointed out to her while she was doing them) was lifting. I went there to speak to John, the owner, on Monday, to show him my nails. I told him I'd return on Wed. I went on Wednesday and asked that Toah do my nails, she usually does a good job. Toah was taking the paint off to re paint and told me that I'd need a fill in. I told her that I was just there on Thursday, my nails don't grow that fast. Well because she did a thorough job of cleaning around my cuticals, better than Maria, I now needed a fill in. I wanted to be clear about what I was paying for because I returned for them to fix what wasn't properly done the first time, so I didn't expect to pay. Toah starts speaking about me in Spanish and I responded to what I heard her say. John excused her for mischarging me. Toah got upset yelled at John and told me I was causing too much problems, keep my tip, she doesn't want to do my nails anymore. Toah and Maria were both rude and disrespectful. The language barrier doesn't help, when you're respectfully trying to explain to people that you are a paying customer, not there to take whatever they give you. I will not go back there. By the other reviews I can see they like turning people away. Soon they won't have...
Read moreI was there yesterday after work. I get my nails done by the man in the 1st seat "John" anyway since I rode in a cab to get there I figured I would stay and let someone else do my nails. So soon after I sit down the other guy calls me over to his table. Now there are ppl that was there before me but no-one said a word when he asked who's next. I asked before I got up and no-one said anything or moved. I guess I figured they all have a particular person that they want. So, I'm at his station and I starting to pull away from him as he is filing my nails. He looks up a second then go back. He's telling me I'm nervous I was like I am nervous you are burning me with the file. He started going really fast, I was hurt for the last time. I pulled away telling him to slow down and he gets all upset like I was hurting him and had the nerve to tell me to Get Out. I left and figured I'll just report him. I can't have ppl treat me any old kind of way. He don't know my medical history and he shouldn't filed so low/close to where I can feel it. When you go in to nail Studio on Central Ave unless you like him don't sit in the 2nd seat on the left as you come in the door. Now I need to find a place until my guy comes back...
Read moreDO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS! They are nasty, rude people. I went with my mother to get a full set of nails and a pedicure. This is the nail salon my Mom has been coming to for years. I used to use this place, but stopped coming because of the owners attitude. I showed the girl doing my nails a picture of the shape and length I wanted. She did one nail to show me the shape & length. I said to her, “That’s perfect”. She preceded to do the rest of my nails but cut them too short. When I asked her to correct the problem, she said I was complaining and refused to finish my nails. I left the salon with my nails unfinished. If I’m paying for a service I have every right to have things done exactly how I requested. Black people need to stop continuing to spend their money at places where they are continually DISCRIMINATED against, disrespected, and not valued as a PAYING CUSTOMER! I will NEVER step foot in this place EVER AGAIN!!!! I’ve included a photo what my nails looked like when I left the nail salon. The last pic is what...
