(TLDR at bottom)Let’s start with what I liked : ambiance, garden, and the drinks and appetizers.

What I did not like: everything else. My first waitress was good, but then went behind the bar and only came back once after taking our order to see if our appetizers had arrived after half an hour - they hadn’t. We had only ordered some soup, bread and fries. The actual dinner was okay, though it took two hours. The steak was cooked right but it and the fries is came with were completely unseasoned and were served cool (it seems to have been left sitting). The salmon was small for the price.

What's worse - we ordered the dessert sampler and the chocolate terrarium. First of all, the chocolate terrarium was $13 and all I got was a somewhat glorified, small dirt cup in a glass bowl without the gummy worms. It was so basic and was so small nothing about it tasted special whatsoever. I could have bought this at a high school cafeteria. Next there was some tart cake and some banana bread with olive oil ice cream which we did like, but what's next is what really prompted this review.

Absolutely unforgivable: SERVICE. This is the most important. The waitress was EXTREMELY RUDE. When my mother said that the dirt cup was underwhelming for the price, she looked at us like we were stupid and said “what, do you want some wood chips and a tulip coming out?” The food was mostly underwhelming or bad and the waitress (who I must mention was not the same person as our initial waitress) did not care, did not want to hear what we had to say, and was very unprofessional. I understand that the service industry can be hard and it gets busy, but it was not busy when we went and we did not do anything to deserve being talked to like that. We were not over-demanding or rude to our waitress, we did not voice any criticisms outside of questioning the chocolate terrarium. I have never before nor since been talked to by staff like this before. It could have been worse, but the waitress reacted so poorly to a pretty basic criticism. I wish we had said something to someone while we were there, but we did not. This place could be good if it had better staff and the food weren't left out to get cold before it reached our table. It's a shame because it has such a cute location. Needless to say, we have not and will not be going back here.

TLDR: underwhelming food for the most part (not all bad, but not great or good), terrible service, unprofessional, nice ambiance, overpriced for how little you get (in both quality...

Terrain Gardens is a stunning venue that perfectly catered to our every need. It felt just right for our wedding with around 90 guests with both beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces that were easily customizable to align with our needs. We played lawn games during the cocktail hour and reception, and we were able to tailor our reception floor plan to create an atmosphere that truly reflected us. We opted to add many florals through Design by Terrain, but even with fewer decorations, it would still feel complete.

The food was standout and was a highlight for us and our guests. The steamed broccoli hors d'oeuvre may sound simple, but it became a crowd favorite. The gazpacho shooters also were a hit. Our grazing table was not only plentiful and delicious but also looked gorgeous! The entree options were delicious as well and received many compliments. Everyone loved the flower pot bread! We found at our tasting there was a lot of variety from more traditional options to more experimental options so most couples can find something that will fit them. The venue took our guests' dietary needs seriously, accommodating our best man's severe allergies with ease. The signature drink, late-night pizza, and cookie favors were also a huge hit!

The staff at Terrain Gardens was exceptional. We worked closely with our venue coordinator, Olivia, for six months leading up to the wedding. She addressed every question and eased all our concerns. On the big day, the staff was polite, attentive, and hardworking. Our attendant, Stephanie, made sure we were never without food or drink and guided us seamlessly throughout the day. The bar staff was quick and efficient, and our signature cocktail received rave reviews.

What truly sets Terrain apart is their commitment to ensuring that both the bride and groom enjoy their special day just as much as their guests. After the ceremony, we were escorted to the bridal suite, where we were greeted with a delightful display of our hors d'oeuvres and a mini version of our grazing table. This moment allowed us to unwind and savor a few precious minutes together before rejoining our guests—one of my favorite memories from the day. At the end of the night, the staff thoughtfully packaged our personal items and provided to-go boxes filled with an extra serving of each of...

You cannot go wrong choosing Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard for your wedding, and I might go so far as to say you are making a mistake if you don't go with them as your venue. Everything was well thought out and clearly planned/organized well, while still allowing for adjustment/personalization/individuality. As someone who doesn't necessarily like to give up control, we felt like we had autonomy to do what we wanted and bring the vision to life while also having the support of our entire team (Eileen (my girl!!), Meghan, Paige, Olivia, and Tiffany) to make sure we were on top of timelines, keeping tabs on different things to consider that we hadn't necessarily thought of, and having finalized decisions well-ahead of the event so our stress levels were kept at a minimum. It is clear this group of people are professionals, and yet they are so friendly and approachable it never felt like a chore or a stressful thing to go through. And that extends to the entire team at Terrain - people assisting with the coordination of the wedding itself, but also each and every server the day of, the culinary team, and all touchpoints leading up to the big day. The price is also incredibly reasonable and the value is unmatched. The food is outstanding, the care with which the culinary team and servers made sure all dietary and food restrictions for our guests were managed and observed was way above and beyond any of our expectations, and the venue in and of itself without any additional decorations is cozy yet grand and stunning. Literally could not have asked for a better venue, dinner service, and our team members. Honestly wish I could get married there multiple times over just to get to interact with the venue and team members more! This venue and team are incredible. Truly. Each and every person who worked with us is absolutely excellent at their jobs and deserves a raise. We so very much appreciated how kind and welcoming/friendly everyone was, which went soooo so far in making our day feel easy and fun and memorable...
