My friend and I had a very nice time on our visit. The atmosphere is casual and the afternoon/evening we dined there was not crowded. The food was very good. The French Onion grilled cheese had just the right amount of Swiss cheese and grilled onions on sourdough bread. My friend ordered the chicken salad sandwich, which was also fresh and plentiful. Both entrees came with potato chips and a small side of potato salad. There were plenty of vegetarian options on the menu as well. Things to keep in mind include that it is busier for breakfast, which is served until 2 pm and that there really aren't dinner entrees on the menu. It's mostly soups, salads, sandwiches, and a quiche offering so be prepared for this. And let's not forget the adorable kittens available for adoption. They are not loose in the restaurant but you can pet them in their cages. Service was a bit slow with the waitress being new but once we ordered, our food didn't take long to arrive. Overall, it was a good place for breakfast/brunch/ or lunch but there are no real dinner options. All proceeds also support the cats care...
Read moreAmazing establishment! Not only is the food so freaking delicious, it's a great place to just sit and do some work! Plus they're a non profit organization- 80% of their sales goes to rescue organizations and helping pets in need and staff work completely off of tips so be sure to tip generously! They have a rotation of available cats to foster or adopt right when you walk in, theyre so sweet and so tempting to take home if I wasnt already a foster mom! Cat themed everything on the was to the little items they sell at the front! But let me tell you about these gluten free pancakes. I actually had to question if they were gluten free because they were that good! Fluffy, flavorful and huge! I ordered lunch to go without even hesitating! I got the turkey panini on gluten free bread with homemade potato salad (the good stuff, not too much mayo!) And the turkey was like thick carved turkey no deli slices, with chunks of caramelized onions! Oh they have a whole selection of ice cream too! I cant wait...
Read moreWe are big fans of their regular breakfast and lunch menus - the Tigger's Caribbean French Toast is delicious and with mango butter is really unique. Hamburger is addictive, as is the Havarti & Green Apple Grilled Cheese.
What's extra special is their annual Valentine's Day dinner. This is a reservation-only dinner, where the quaint cafe turns into a beautiful dining room, complete with cloth napkins folded to the shape of a heart. We both got the filet mignon which was outstanding, as were the potatoes and the veggies.
Service is by volunteers and is always responsive and friendly. 80% of the cost of the meal goes to support a non profit cat rescue, and yes, there are usually a few kittens or cats in big cages over in the gift shop area. You can't pick them up or anything but you can pet them through the bars and they are all so adorable!
Seriously, don't miss their Valentine's Day dinner next year, and check the place out...
