Wednesday before Thanksgiving my 5 year old grandson was off school so we took he and his 28 month old brother to Scheels'. We went early to beat the crowds. They both love the aquarium at the entrance. The older boy always points out Dorey. Then we played at the kid size bowling alley before before going to the faris wheel. It was the first time the little guy was tall enough to ride it and he was so excited. Then we had lunch at their cafe. A very pleasant surprise. The adults split their $8 pizza which was very good. The $5 kids meal had a choice of a small pizza, or chicken strips, or Mac & cheese. The meal included apply sauce, a drink and an ice cream cone. So for not much money we had a great time...
Read moreThis is a sports store, not an aquarium. That being said, it has an amazing aquarium on site. Clean, multilevel habitat for the fish. I could watch it for hours, however it's right in the front area just after you enter and no place to just sit and watch. It's a fancy entrance to the store. We did snag some good sales on shirts which was why we entered in the first place. Most clothing is higher priced technical type clothing for cyclists, hunters, campers, hikers, fishers, golfers, etc, but good deals can be had. Lots of gear as well, including dog items. Read moreI went into Scheels today to find some ice skates for my daughters from Santa, and the gentleman (I wish I could remember his name) was extremely friendly and helpful. Gave me all the information I asked for, helped me pick out three pairs of skates for my girls (5, 14, 19), made sure I have the accessories I need and got them sharpened (which is something I didn't realize I had to do and he informed me so that I wouldn't have to come back to sharpen them after they are given as gifts for Christmas).
