Play Street Museum - McAllen — Attraction in Edinburg

We love play street so much! We have visited a few times, but I have to say that this time it was not very clean and that was disappointing. It is such a beautiful facility. I really feel that the owners should take time to scrub down all of the toy food and the play areas. Some things were downright grimy, and the rugs were not vacuumed, and the floors were not very clean. There’s always an employee on duty who is literally sitting behind the counter and doing absolutely nothing but checking people in. There’s really no reason the employee doesn’t have time to be wiping down some things that children are not playing with at the moment. I know they tidy up between plays sessions, but it is very important to be not only sanitizing, but also just cleaning basic dirt and grime off of the toys. As much as I am a fan of play Street, I am not excited about coming back unless some of the things are cleaned. For example, admission is around $15 per child for an hour and a half. Do we really have to keep playing with the same grungy dolls that are literally dilapidated, scuffed, and worn out. Replace a few things and it will pay off in the long run. One of my children’s favorite areas was the grocery store, and now the scanner doesn’t even work or beep. We still enjoyed our time, but there’s definitely room for improvement in cleanliness and updating...

So we show up at 9:51 am on October Friday 25th. No one is in the place. It’s my son’s birthday, so the young lady in the front tells us. “Can you come back at 1030, we have specific play times. We wouldn’t want you to pay $14 dollars for 10 min”. Which I would understand if there were other people with their kids playing. However there was just two employees sitting down drinking their coffee drinks. So then I ask. “Well can I just pay right now and we’ll leave in a hour?” To which the young lady responds “no, we need 30 minute break to disinfect all the toys” mind you, no one!!! Is in the building !!!and they just opened!!! Manuel Gomez, I will take this down if you respond. As a small business owner I know this isn’t what you want however, this customer service is terrible. I would understand on a busy day or if you had reservations but on a slow Friday morning with no one in the joint you have to ask for more from your employees brother. This is terrible. PARTY REVIEW: I booked my son’s party here since he loved coming to play the first time (review below). It was a great time, the two hosts helping me literally helped with EVERYTHING from setting up to serving and passing out treats and cleaning. They made the party go so smoothly and the place was so clean when we arrived as well. I can’t thank them enough for their help and excellent service. I recommend any parent with small children to considered booking a party here because they are excellent!

PLAY TIME RESERVATION: I took my 2 year old and he absolutely loved it. The entire place was so clean including the restrooms. The staff was very informative and friendly and kept ensuring the place was clean. I truly hope this place stays looking the way it is, as I’ve seen with other places in the valley they get so banged up really quick which is expected from children play places but I hope otherwise for this place. They go by reservation which is another huge bonus for me personally as I know a lot of play places can get overcrowded quickly which makes the experience less fun. 10/10 recommend and will definitely...
