Booking a trolley tour for my bachelorette weekend was one of the best decisions of our trip and our driver/tour guide Bryon (in the selfie) was the BEST!!! We all loved him! Bryon was incredibly kind, funny, and full of fun Door County facts and tips! He got to know every group on our trolley and remembered names, what brought them to DC, etc. You can tell he’s passionate about what he does and enjoys it! He really went the extra mile all day and we all want to request Bryon for our future trolley rides if we can!
We booked the cherry blossom tour but being that it was the first weekend of the tour (April 2nd), we knew it might be too early for blossoms, and it was. But even on a cold spring day that started with snow, we had such a great time! We stopped at Red Oak Winery for a wine flight and bought some bottles there (and got to shop Door County Candle Company and Door County Coffee Company next door!), Lautenbachs for a horse-drawn carriage tour of the vineyards (which was surprisingly eventful as we had a wagon tire pop on our ride, but gave us a good story!) and then shopping in Lautenbachs market, English Inn for lunch, Peninsula State Park for scenic views, One Barrel Brewing Co. for ciders, and Alpine Golf Course for one last scenic view!
There were a lot of other bachelorette parties the day of our trolley tour, so I appreciated them putting each of us parties on separate trolleys! It was also really great that our larger group of 9 was seated together in the back section of the bus where we could easily talk. Overall, it was a wonderful, memorable experience that my entire group enjoyed and I will definitely be back for more trolley rides in the future! Thanks Bryon and Door County Trolley for giving us such a wonderful day we won’t...
Read moreMy husband and I visited Door County for the first time this week. We wanted to both go wine tasting and also check out some light houses so we decided to do two of the trolley tours. First, we did the premier wine tour with David as our driver. He was super attentive and provided great conversations and laughs for everyone on the trip. The only downside was the lunch at the Alpine resort. The food was just pretty plain and two members of our group actually had mold on their burger buns. We dont hold that against the trolley company as im sure it was a fluke situation. Still would give David and the DOCO Trolly company 10/10. It was a great experience for us!
The second day we did the lighthouse tour with Ronny 5 star. He was also so friendly and gave us lots of information about Door county. He was attentive to everyone's needs and extremely helpful to one member in our group who was handicapped and needed some assistance getting up and down the steps to the Trolley. This time they provided a boxed lunch which included a sandwich, chips, a cookie, and a drink. We chose what we wanted before we left and then ate it at a picnic area at one of the lighthouses. The sandwich was so good! It was made with good cold cuts and had a good amount of meat and condiments on it. I made a joke to my husband that the cold lunch was better than the one we had at the nicer place the day before. It was true though. We would still recommend Door County Trolley because the overall experience was fun and informational and we were given recommendations for other things to do while here and its been so...
Read moreI don’t throw out many 5 stars reviews; however, Door County Trolley earned it! From making reservations, getting shuttle pick up, tour guide interaction, souvenir shopping and overall winery/distillery experience, they nailed it!
We decided to have a group of friends take the almost 5 hour winery, distillery and brewery tour of Door County. Purchasing tickets and make arrangements to be picked up at our condo were easy. On the day of the tour, our friendly tour driver T-O-DD showed up right on time. His positivity and enthusiasm stayed at peak level throughout the day!
We were greeted by other friendly employees at the trolley center. They have a bar outside the building and another inside. There is a large souvenir area and nice facilities inside the building.
Having been briefed by our driver, we knew exactly where to be at the designated time. We grabbed our designated seats and our driver explained where we would be going and went over the lunch menu (included in the tour price). We placed our orders for Sonny’s Pizzeria and headed out with “Holiday Road” blasting from the trolley’s speakers.
We toured Door Peninsula Winery, Door 44 Winery and received VIP treatment at both. We traveled backroads to Sturgeon Bay to enjoy our lunch before visiting Bridge Up Brewing. We boarded the trolley and took a scenic route back to Egg Harbor.
Not all trolleys (there are a plethora of them) go to the same wineries, distilleries or breweries. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our day. We always felt welcomed and never felt rushed at any of the stops.
Definitely put on your Door County...
