I would like to share my experience at Garcias house of boxing regarding an unfortunate incident involving my child. My 5-year-old was verbally bullied by an older child and was physically pushed, resulting in minor scratches on his hands and knee. When I spoke to the three coaches Sebastian , Arian and Hector to inquire if they had witnessed the incident, they only mentioned seeing my child on the floor. I believe it would have been more appropriate for the staff to inform me about the fall rather than relying on my child to communicate it. When I requested an incident report, the manager Arian responded rather dismissively, sexist and disrespectful stating he wouldn’t document it because he believed it didn’t happen and saying because I am mother I’m blowing it out of proportion. I had also asked for a review of the camera footage, but it seems that this wasn’t checked prior to our conversation. The following day, I was informed by Josue that the cameras outside were not functioning properly, which left me feeling quite unsettled. I understand that boxing is a disciplined sport, and I believe that addressing issues like this is crucial for the well-being of all participants. My son confided with Hector about the incident while they were working one on one, Hector simply acknowledged the fall not what my son was telling him which was he got pushed and Hector telling my son “ you didn’t get pushed you fell” keep this in mind, this was after I asked the coaches if they saw anything. Hector did acknowledged that this older kid was talking to my 5 year old in a way he shouldn’t have. I feel that better communication and conflict resolution strategies should be in place for both the children and their parents in such situations. As a result of this experience, i did not feel my child was safe there and because of that I had to pay a fee to get out of my contract. I have reached out to the Better Business Bureau to discuss my concerns, as I feel this situation went against the expectations outlined in their contract. I am seeking either a full or partial refund due to the circumstances, but till this day they have not responded to them or reached out to myself to get to a resolution. I am very disappointed with the whole outcome since the owner of the gym is recognized by El Paso as someone who holds morals and values when it comes to his gym and this sport.
I hope this feedback can contribute to improvements in the way such incidents are handled...
Read moreMy experience with this boxing facility has been disappointing due to ongoing issues with structure and communication. I was given by other parents this warning when I joined but I truly hoped it wasn’t true. After expressing concerns to the owner, I expected the conversation to remain confidential. However, the trainer I mentioned was informed and later confronted me about the complaint, which was unprofessional and uncomfortable.
When I decided to cancel my membership, I was told I needed to pay a cancellation fee, even though my contract did not include one. The owner later acknowledged that the staff member who handled my account would have to pay out of her check my fee. I also spoke to another office member who was actually working with me to figure the best solution and according to the owner “ she was just getting on board” mind this she works as management shows a lack of training and consistency among the staff. When I spoke to owner and attempted to cancel I was even hanged up on.
The biggest red flag for me was safety — my child was left outside unsupervised during running drills. There are other businesses behind the building that stay open late, and it’s just not safe for kids to be left unattended.
The only positive aspect of this facility is the trainer Zorro , who is dedicated and good with the kids. Unfortunately, management and front staff do not demonstrate the same level of care or professionalism.
Overall, the facility lacks organization, clear communication, and proper supervision. I would not recommend it to parents looking for a safe and well-managed environment for...
Read moreThis gym used to be great and awesome! I Used to love coming to this gym. It used to have Awesome staff, courteous and friendly customer service, excellent work outs, and motivation from here to the moon. But I don't know what happened. That lately the gym has been going from staff to staff hiring them. then letting them go in a short of period of time. Putting extra work in the other employees that have been great since the beginning. of course causing the lack in all the areas mentioned above. Unfortunately with the fast hiring and lack of requirements especially in the CUSTOMER SERVICE! Business has been doing a completely mess. now there's a tall skinny guy that does front desk and thinks is a cop or I don't know what! instead of making you feel welcome makes you want to leave! Which honestly is not fair because first is not a cheap gym and secondly and most important is not PROFESSIONAL! I know we are all going through hard times especially now in this times. But with all due respect without the people love and support. Garcia's house of boxing wouldn't be of...
