Warning: XBOX "Repair" Led to More Problems and Voided Warranty I'm writing this review to share my incredibly frustrating experience with Tech Surgeons regarding an Xbox Series X repair. I feel completely ripped off and am extremely disappointed with their service and the owner's deceitful practices. I initially took my Xbox Series X to this shop because the HDMI port teeth were broken with wiggle play, causing a black screen due to a loose connection. The owner assured me they could fix it and offered a 3 month warranty on the repair. Great, I thought! I got my Xbox back two days later, supposedly "fixed and good to go." However, just one week after the repair, I was back to square one – a black screen. After troubleshooting, I discovered the HDMI teeth were indeed fine, but the entire HDMI port itself was loose and wobbly. The screen would only display if I wiggled the HDMI cable to one side on the HDMI port. Clearly, the original issue wasn't fully resolved, or they missed tightening something crucial. I promptly returned the Xbox, expecting them to honor the 3-month warranty since the job wasn't completed properly. They took it in, saying they'd "take care of it." Days passed without an update. When I finally called them on a Saturday, after they ignored my 1st call then declined my 2nd call and instead texted me, i provided my info which in return they claim my console was "re-damaged." Upon speaking with the owner, he shockingly declared the damage was "from the end user" and that my warranty was void. He insisted I needed to pay more money to fix something that was clearly never properly repaired in the first place. When I tried to explain that the issue persisted from their initial "fix" and that I hadn't damaged it, he weaponized his "tech knowledge" against me, claiming he did a fantastic job and implying I was at fault. This felt incredibly dishonest. It seems like a temporary, shoddy fix was applied, just enough to get it out the door, knowing it would fail, so they could then blame the customer and charge more money, nullifying the warranty. I paid money to get my Xbox fixed, and it still has the exact same problem due to their incomplete work. I was left with two options: pay more money or pick up my still broken console.
I strongly advise anyone considering using this tech shop to take their business elsewhere. Find a place that genuinely fixes problems and operates with integrity, not deceit.
UPDATE‼️ Dishonest Work & Unacceptable Customer Service Another professional repair shop diagnosed that the HDMI port was never properly soldered to the motherboard, only placed inside, neither the four mounting feet nor the pins were soldered onto their respective pads When I brought this defective workmanship to the owner's attention again, expecting a resolution under warranty, he became rude and refused to take responsibility. This experience further highlights his poor business ethics and lack of...
Read moreI would first like to start by saying that after serving twenty years in the military I am big on communication. I served as diesel tech in the military, so I do understand the process of troubleshooting and that it does not always go as planned. My issue was the lack of organization and communication between the two shops. I dropped my daughter's iPad off at the dryer location three weeks ago for what I was told would be a possible screen repair when I described the issue to the gentleman in the establishment. I was told that someone would call me in three days (that never happened). I called the number for a status a week later from the original drop-off date to give them some time to work on the iPad. The phone went straight to an automated message and someone text me after multiple calls asking how they can help me instead of calling me back (second red flag). Since they were screening the call, I decided to text them so I wouldn't have to waste a drive to the establishment. They never text back after I identified myself, so I went to the Dyer location to ask for an update. The same gentleman I dropped the iPad off to ask me who I spoke to I told him it was you. He then stated it must be at the other location and then proceed to call someone at a northeast location. They located my temporarily misplaced iPad and said it was being worked on and said to come back Monday. This was a Friday and Monday came and went with no call back. Another week went by, and I begin to text the number that originally screened my calls back and told them to cease all work on my iPad and just to return it to me. I still had to call and see if it was ready to pick up days later. The iPad was never fix due to me forcing them to return the item to me. I then was given the answer of it may me the motherboard or the LCD. I can usually read people by actions and what you say to me. This place is very unprofessional, and I personally do not trust the technical side of the establishment after dealing with the communication side. I'd much rather you tell me you couldn't fix the problem than to keep kicking the can down the road. Building any business that lack communication or integrity will eventually lead to loss of business. I personal believe anyone change if they want to and wish them the best, but I personally will not be...
Read moreTook my phone to Israel for a screen repair. Immediately after getting the screen repaired, the gps stopped working. The phone had been working perfectly before. I also had Israel check out my laptop and he forgot to give me back my keyboard cover since I also forgot to ask him for it. When I told him about the keyboard cover the next day, he mentioned that his brother had thrown it away. What kind of tech store just "throws" accessories away. Isn't it logical to hold it since the customer may call back for it? I also went back to give him an opportunity to fix the gps problem. During this visit, he kept on pressuring my to upgrade my phone, stating that the gps problem was because the iPhone x is old. During this visit, he also "conveniently" almost forgot to give me back my phone case. I had to ask for the case, even though it was sitting right in front of him and you could clearly see that it was an iPhone x case. He offered to pay to replace my laptop keyboard cover and I've been waiting for him to text me back since he was out of town. I went to both locations, wasting my gas. It's been a week and he has yet to reach out to me, hence this review. I also went and got a second opinion on the gps problem and they stated that the only way to fix the problem was through sodering and that very likely something was damaged during the screen replacement at tech surgeons. Like I said, the gps had been working perfectly before. Nothing was failing on the phone....
