The House of Sugar is an art house constructed by Rufino Loya Rivas as a tribute to the city of El Paso. It was created between 1973 and 1998. It contains ornate statues and very detailed column designs featuring folk arts. You can visit this place anytime, the gate was close when we go there it was a public holiday. not sure what times we can go in, but I saw reviews saying we need a reservation to go in, something worth trying Definitely a unique...

This beautiful labor of love should not be missed when in El Paso! For over 25 years Mr. Rufino Rivas Loya has taken cement, made small balls that were then pressed into place and then when dried....painted with a small paintbrush to offer color! Until you are right there to see how intricate each and every area is, even my pictures do not do this amazing work of art, justice! Thank you Mr. Loya, for sharing...

Kinda surprised it's in the middle of the neighborhood, literally beside the highway road. You have to park on the side road, in front of people's house. Somewhat stands out. Can't really see the inside. Looks a little creepy after awhile but definitely a unique one. No need to pay for anything, no waiting. Cute writings from the creator all...
