1st priorities Trust and Family
“Trust and Family”, that what is all about in this deal with Hatt Auto Sales, Specifically Joe Agha. This will take a minute (don’t stop reading) so let’s get started.
I was in the market to help my son buy his first car. He had done all his research and found the exact model (Ford Escape Hybrid 4WD) in his preferred color(black) but is was about $900 more than he had saved up and it was at Hatt Auto Sales which is about 3,000 miles from our home in California. It all began with a phone call to Joe Agha. I explained to him our situation and I asked directly if he thought that this vehicle was in good condition for my teenager.
Let’s talk about trust: Joe said “definitely”. I explained that I was very leery about buying a car that I have never seen in person or test drove. He said that I have to trust him or I was welcome to fly out and test drive but he did not recommend it because he had driven the car several times and he gave me his word that it was a good vehicle. I told him OK and that my son did not have all the money just yet and it would take about 3 weeks to get it. I asked him to hold the car for us and to trust that we would get the rest of the money to him. He said OK.
I mailed a cashier’s check to Joe for the money that my son had already saved. I called the next week to see if he got it and if the car was on hold. Joe told me it was not there yet. But he had to cut the conversation short because he had to go to the hospital. I tried to follow up the next day, but I was not able to get to thru to Joe. I tried again a few days later and Joe apologized for not answering. Turned out that his visit to the hospital was the last time he would see his grandfather alive. He passed away that weekend. I told Joe that there was no rush to get back to work to make this sale. I asked(may have even come across as demanded) him to take all the time he needed with his Family as they need him for strength to get through this. He said ok and left me with, “Don’t worry, that car is yours.” To which I responded, “It is not about a sale right now, it is about your family. AMEN”. We crossed over the line of provider/client. We were now part of extended families.
After some days passed and I got the call from Joe that he was back at work and his family was getting through the loss as best they could. Now we still had some figuring to do. How does the car get from New Jersey to California? Option A: I could fly out there and Joe could pick me up at the airport and I could spend 4 days driving back racking up cost for fuel and hotel rooms. Or option B: Joe said, “I could find you a few reputable auto transport companies to work with that could cost less than all that travel. It would be delivered to your home.” I didn’t know anything about how to make the transactions. Hearing the confusion in my voice, Joe said, “I’ll make all the arrangements and pay for it and you can pay me back. Again, he trusted me that I would uphold my end of the bargain.” We made the final payment and the cost of the shipping and the vehicle arrive at my home about 3 days after Joe sent me pictures of it being load auto transport at Hatt Auto. On the receiving end, the vehicle arrived about an hour before my son got home from school. He was so excited to see his car when he got home. We got the vehicle registration and temporary tags in the mail the next day and took the Escape for a drive. It runs well, is very clean, and everything works. It is great car just as Joe said.
In the end, I am happy that Joe and his family are recovering from the loss of his grandfather. I am also happy that my son got the car of his dream for his first car.
Thank you Joe for including me as part of your family and for making my son’s first car a great one. You EARNED my trust and friendship forever. For my next car, even though you are 3000 miles away, my first call will be to...
Read moreI set my eyes on a honda pilot that hatt had advertised, it was very clean nothing out of the ordinary. I get there and ask to see but it wasnt there yet, but it showed up a few minutes later(as well as the second time i saw the car i never saw the car from a cold start). Checked it over the only thing that concerned me was a slight smell of coolant, but i could find no leaks. Took it for test drive and drove great but the guy i was with (this is important for later in the story) told me that it had all new plugs and coils. Which i thought was great, also asked if i wanted a coolant flush done which i declined without me even mentioning my concern for the coolant smell. I did endup purchasing this car. So this car was from jersey and i had to get it inpected in pa, took it to my local honda dealer i have below the estimate for what it needed. Almost $2500 worth of work.
Thats back in january, lets fast forward to this month of may. Wife calls me and says the cars raidtiotor broke and was steaming. When it was replaced i found someone had used that band aid fix of pouring the goop into the radiator to stop it from leaking. A week after that the car starting sputtering on the highway with the check engine light flashing and broke down. Took it to honda hoping its something simple, mechanic was shaking his head as im walking up to him. Someone botched a spark plug hole replacement in cylinder #5 they put a ford threaded insert in and the spark plug that was there was solid at the tip. All the other 5 spark plugs looked new and oem, the one in cylinder 5 was a cheap autolite. The compression for the cylinder was at 60 psi and is supposed to be 180. So the mechanic told me the engine is shot and needs a replacement.
So a used high mileage engine cost around $1200 plus installation. Recon engine is probably going to be twice that. I aslo got the codes p0420 and p0430 which basically says i need new catilytic converters as well because of the cylinder failing. Now as i mentioned above about the test drive, they had to know of the problem of cylinder 5, the spark plugs were all fresh except for one which couldnt be replaced becasue an oem wouldnt fit. They also had to have known about the radiator problem as i mentioned above they asked if i wanted a flush. So as these things started happening i pieced together that they knowingly sold me a car that was going to fail. I would definetly have a appropiate service center mechanic look over thier cars if you do plan on buying one here as you dont want $7000 in repairs for your car. Im not the only to have this happen to look at the person who bought the 2008 Lexus LX570.

Read moreDear Auto Buyer,
Please go to this auto dealer to buy the car of your dreams. I found mine at Hatt Auto Sales. Just to make you aware I was not solicited to write this review. It is completely my pleasure. I had been looking for a Rolls Royce Silver Seraph for about 6 months. I have had 3 Rolls Royces previously and certainly knew what I was looking for. I wanted an absolutely flawless automobile. As if it was sitting on the showroom floor. I actually found it and much much more. The more was Joe. Joe had been negotiating with another dealer when I left a message. I received a prompt reply. Joe answered all my questions and even offered useful information that I hadn't thought of asking for. I live in Fallbrook, California and of course Joe's dealership is about 3 thousand miles away. I was only able to look at pictures on the website. Joe offered to take more pictures than what were on the website. He took pictures of everything I asked for. Joe went way way above and beyond the average car salesperson. The price was $40,000.00. with only 22,000 miles. This was easily below the current market value and according to the NADA was worth about $73,000. This Rolls Royce, given the additional custom additions that it has, out the door was about $250,000. new. Joe knew all the history of the car from the time it was new. It had always been serviced by the same Rolls Royce dealership where it was sold. I asked Joe if he would take it to the Rolls Royce dealership for an inspection. He gladly agreed to do so. I offered to pay him for his time but he said that would not be necessary. After a lengthy inspection the Rolls Royce dealership called me and said that it was as if it still was still sitting on their showroom floor. I had no problem whatsoever wiring Joe $40,000. even without personally seeing the car. I wanted to do so before someone else saw what an incredible deal it was. It took about 1 month to get a carrier to pick it up because of its dimensions. It is an unusually wide car. During this time Joe was very patient. I offered to pay him a storage fee because I knew that my car was taking up indoor space that he needed. He never asked for a storage fee nor would he accept one. Upon delivery I realized that I had gotten the car of my dreams. It was literally flawless just like the dealership and Joe said. I am 66 years old and I am a retired Doctor. I have never trusted nor purchased anything from anyone this expensive in my whole life without seeing it in person I was able to buy the car of my dreams and pay for it before I saw it because Joe is and was so completely honest and trustworthy. He even said that when I got it if I didn't like the color or something was wrong with it he would take it back and give me my money back, no questions asked. I would not hesitate to buy another car sight unseen from Joe anytime. He is by far the most honest car dealer I have ever known in my whole life. I would recommend that you buy a car from Joe and see for yourself what a man of honesty and integrity is really like....
