My fiancé and I were visiting his hometown and we decided to get out and explore elk city since I've never been there. When we arrived at the old town museum we were impressed with all the antiques and artifacts. We were curious about what was in the house so we ventured inside where we were "greeted" very rudely. As the elderly female attendant spoke to us, she seemed irritated that we had even stepped foot in the house. Our greeting was "Hi, do you have tickets?!" My fiancée response was "No ma'm, she's from the city and she just wanted to look around" her response was "well you have to have tickets to be in here". We would have had no problem buying tickets to enter had we we known prior, but she never gave us information after on how to get tickets, and was very snobby about even talking to us, so my fiancé said ok and we walked out. Lots of old stuff from our past history, and it was so interesting to see how the past got thru life with gadets to make life easier compared to what we have now a days. Really makes you wonder how people from the past would have been knowing where the future actually went and how easier life gets in the modern day future. One strange item was wall art made out of human hair, really weird. Lol, but they hung this art on their walls. Lots of interesting Indian artifacts...

Being a motorhead, I especially enjoyed the vintage cars, trucks, tractors and horse drawn farm equipment. In the gift shop, they have a couple of old cut-a-way vehicles that they made into theater seats, like you are at a drive in, where you get to watch a couple of short movies. Fun! Lots of things to see, lots of cool displays, a great place to bring kids of all ages, to show them how we lived in a simpler...
