Granite Selection — Attraction in Elk Grove Township

I figured after 5 months with granite time to review and share. After going to 5 different shops to get a feel for granite I chose GS I liked the large selection and the access to MSI stone to see more granite than the eyes could take. I also felt that my small 46 square foot job was just as important to GS as a large job unlike the granite shop in barrington that blew me off and I had to call repeatedly to get my quote that wasn't even what I wanted. There was good communication and no hidden charges and their pricing was the best here. They were the only shop that would do my small L shaped desk in 1 piece instead of 2 but I did make that my #1 emphasis. They also had no problem using the new 16 ga kohler strive sink I provided and had the template programmed in their machine already, I just gave them the model #. I recommend a thick 16 gauge commercial grade stainless sink don't get a 20 gu thin sink sounds tinny and that was #1 issue I learned from friends that got granite. They measured cabinets and installed quickly. It was like 8 days from initial selection to installation. My experience was great. If you want to cut your costs and get great granite use them. They are not going hold your hand and choose for you like a high paid kitchen designer will. They will leave you alone and let you take your time selecting and and only spoke when I asked questions, very eastern european. They were timely in all correspondence and appt. I do recommend that you go there during the day on a weekday because weekends they are busy with many browsers. We had the whole warehouse to ourselves on a Friday afternoon and my wife was very impressed when she asked if she could have a sample . Extremely poor installation. We bought their granite countertops and for our kitchen, and we agreed that all countertops will be whole slabs, with the main having an undermount sink. However, when they came to install the prices the main piece was separated into two separate pieces by the sink cutout, with clear disjointed corners with a visible seam, and a dent. So we decided to call talk about this since the deal was to install a full piece. They told us that they will be giving us a discount because they had made an error. But the day after the installation, we called them to further talk about the discount but they went completely silent on us. We tried calling the bank but the money had already been through weeks prior. The bank told us we the only way would be to file a case against them. Furthermore, they promised that they will be doing some of the plumbing (because we also got an undermount sink from them) and they left sink with the plumbing. they are great!!! they did a great job on the install. the seams were almost invisible and they chose a great spot in the middle of the sink. After the install i noticed a small spot by the sink that looked like Epoxy as it was rough. I planned to call to ask how to remove it, but the mark was small and i forgot. finally i got around to reaching out 5 months later, they were extremely helpful on the best way to clean it. when i went to clean it i noticed it was not epoxy it was actually gouged a bit.

I let them know that, but given I waited 5 months i didn't expect them to do anything about it as that is on me for waiting, but wanted to know my options. I talked to Tijana. she said she would send someone out to take a look and they would take a look. I don't know what they will say when they get here or if its fixable, but i can tell you from a customer service and response standpoint they have been incredible.
