This place is great for walking, running, and playing! During Covid phases when playgrounds were closed, my boys loved running around the various baseball fields here. The trails are nice and hilly with lots of pretty wetland scenery. I typically feel very safe here when running by myself also.
The playground here is large and a little scary if you have multiple children! I would definitely stay away whenever you have children in the 18-24 months range (where they're adventurous and don't want baby stuff, but also lack the knowledge to not jump off a steep edge). There are a lot of high drop offs and tripping hazards in the large playground. But for older children, or 2-3 year olds you can follow around a bit, it's a great space to play!

The kids section is actually padded and I used to go a lot pre-covid. The park has a nice enclosed section with many tables and two to three barbaque grills and I have done some controlled family lunches there.
This park also has soccer fields, tennis courts and baseball fields as well as trails that surround the park for those who like to jog or walk. I know this area well and it is very safe.

Read moreWe really enjoy the playground, and it's especially great for older kids. Several of the features are currently broken and boarded up, and I hope they are fixed soon. The other downside is that it can be hard to keep track of younger kids on the big playground, but there is a small section meant for younger kids. Edit: There are some nice paved walking trails all around, as well as lots of sports fields and open basketball and tennis courts.
