They closed off a large section of the parking lot to make room for all the supplies and equipment they used to remodel the store. Although the store was open during construction, parking became difficult. I thought, "If they do a good job it will be worth it." Unfortunately, they hardly did anything. Here is how the, 'remodeled' Target is different:
They made it appear like they made the cosmetics section larger. But all they did was remove all of the shelves and they replaced them with shorter shelves. This gives the illusion of having more space.
They added a large, round light above the cosmetics section to make it appear like it has more space than it actually does.
They moved everything and it doesn't make any sense. They had all of the cleaning products next to the registers but they decided to move them next to the pharmacy because... reasons?
The way they moved everything makes no sense. It's as if they planned this at a bar. They drew a map of the store while having a few beers and a few shots. Then they pinned the map on the wall and threw darts at it. Each dart resembled each department and wherever it landed is exactly where that thing would be.
An example of how poorly laid out it is now: They have a section of a variety of soaps and cleaning products in front of the women's section (sexist much?). Literally everything is in a different place so frequent customers can be confused and look for their items. Of course, the staff here goes out of their way to avoid you so you are left to find what you need on your own.
Seriously, the staff here are basically paperweights so there really isn't a point in having them. This store is an excellent opportunity to test out automation because these employees are here to collect minimum wage while the gossip and talk about their wild...
Read moreHave been shopping here for years and typically find the staff very helpful. Clearly the staff working on May 8 in the evening do not understand retail business. Did not receive the circle deal for the redeemable products I bought-checked on the APP before going to checkout-so I went to the service desk. One of the products when scanned did not come up on the deal but on the APP clearly showed the product was eligible-the APP showed the same product, with two descriptions, one with a detailed description and the other with a simpler description, exact same box, exact same price, exact same product. Read both product descriptions online after. My guess was that I picked up a box that had been on the shelf for a while, or maybe last seasons box (it was a seasonal item)-it was clear they were the same product. But our girls at service desk could not unfortunately use their smarts to agree with that and give me the $10 credit. Instead of using their heads to see clearly it was the same product they proceeded, especially what I thought was the older of two, to make out that I was being difficult. I showed them the boxes on the APP multiple times and when I tried to explain it was just an older box I was told I was giving them “attitude”. The product only has one version. I worked multiple years in the retail business-never would I have said this to a customer. Was I a little confused, sure, but good retail service means finding a solution, great retail service comes from knowing the products you sell, understanding merchandising and listening to what someone is trying to tell you. every encounter in life is a teachable moment-those two ladies blew it, my lesson? don’t go back...
Read more((PLEASE READ)) service here was horrid a complete nightmare. It took them 6 months for me to get a pair of contacts after repeated trial context that were wrong that did not even fit my prescription. I had to continuously go back to the store to get it right. Reorder the next pair which was still wrong. After everything was done and over with after calling corporate they got their act together to some degree. I dealt with the manager there. Riva. She was very snippety and disrespectful and I know that's not appropriate. I work in sales and customer service and it was just very distasteful. Long story short after finally figuring out my new contacts. My left eye never changed from the years prior Right air I slightly change but do you know I kept going back and they said the contacts are not available to order So I set for a good 3 weeks without context. Checking in with them to find out if they were available and yet they still say no. The distributor don't have any.
Out of curiosity, I went to the Target optical in Columbia and the gentleman told me as we ordered the contacts together from another store. Long story short, some people really need to consider that jobs before they take it. It's just really bad ethics and bad customer service. I currently have my contacts that I was supposed to receive months ago No thank you to the originating Target optical center in Ellicott City where I went. I will never go there again and if I were you I would...
