This is a super cool historic place. Unfortunately it's not been open the last two times I've passed thru. William White is a remarkable historical figure and has an awesome biography.

Our tour guide was friendly and funny. She knew her stuff and the history of this site is very interesting. It was a great stop and it does have a pass on the Sunflower App.

Wonderful tour! Loved all the artifacts that they had on display. Really made the tour kid friendly for our 4th graders!

Before I visited I knew just a few things about White. He was the owner and editor of the Emporia Gazette in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and was widely known for some of his editorials ("What's the Matter with Kansas?" etc.). He wrote a wonderful memorial to his young daughter Mary White after her tragic death riding her horse. That's about it. Visit this house and you will learn a lot more. It is well worth the trip, plus this part of Kansas is quite lovely and not entirely flat--the Flint Hills are nearby. Do visit if you are as close as Wichita or K.C. Spend a few hours learning...

I went here today on a field trip. (To go you had to read 5 William Allen White award books and pass the quizzes over then with at least an 8/10) I liked it! But I can definitely tell you that some people were bored. It was cool to see a house where presidents have been abd where this famous author and editor actually LIVED!! I think I found it more interesting than some because I love books too. It wasn't the most fun thing in the entire world, but it was still pretty cool. I would...

I really enjoyed the short video at the start of the tour. Stories like that of William Allen White show that you can come from a small town, but still make a huge impact on...
