Seriously… I’m a super nice human and always walk into a place with a smile on my face…
That being said…
I drove to the back of the Encinitas store to drop off a bunch of stuff many of it brand new still in the original box…
I walked up to the staff in my friendly way and said hello…
Before I could say anything else this little Prima-donna of a guy rudely tells me to sign in.
Then he tells me to read the sign for what they are not taking…. the list was typed out … some items crossed out some items penned in. It was very confusing. I said that I had some pans and he said very quickly and with attitude, they’re not taking any kitchen stuff.
Then a super nice woman I wish that I knew her name came over to me and said let’s look and see what you have. I can help you…
Now mind you I’m disabled and I was walking with a cane.
She was very kind, put a bunch of stuff (kitchen stuff) on the cart a lot of the stuff as I said, never been opened so that the uptight pretentious little excuse of a human could write up the prices
I had no expectations of getting top dollar for these beautiful pieces, but to offer me $6.00 for a brand new never been opened item… not to mention I couldn’t read his writing therefore I didn’t know what was six dollars and what he was offering for eight dollars but come on
So still in a polite manner I said “wow that seems low for something that’s brand new and can you please tell me what this says because I can’t read your writing.”
His response … He got all huffy the way male Primadonnas do and said “I’m going to lunch, someone else to deal with her “ and he walked off
I was blown away and in no way was going to leave my stuff at this incredibly rude place.
The kind woman helped me to pack up all my stuff. She put it in the car and that was that.
I did say to her I feel sorry for you because at least I only have to deal with him once in a lifetime but you people have to work with him on a daily and I know that this is not an isolated incident.
So for the owner of the shop, you really should think about who your employees are because that rude and angry excuse is who is representing your store and it’s not a good look.
I'm also wondering why this review...
Read moreThis review is mainly for the customer service experience we received at the Encinitas location. The gentlemen in the "blue shirts" were class acts: friendly, answered all our questions, and politely helped us when we were loading our purchase. The gentleman at the jewelry counter was of the same caliber: he was friendly, patient, and engaging throughout our interaction.
The one-star is for the staff at the front desk. The condescending snark was beyond what any customer should have to experience, and was so low-class it was appalling. After making our purchase, my wife asked the older woman at the register how we get the items to our car. With much gross fanfare, we were instructed to "figure it out" with a dismissive laugh, not made in good humor. I'm unsure what's hard to "figure out" about simply saying, "we have staff in blue shirts that can help you. They are by the back door. Talk with them and they will get you sorted out," or something simple instead of the dismissive attitude. I'm not sure when my new employee orientation was for this place, since I was apparently expected to know how things work. After being told to "figure it out," I told my wife I would go get the car. I was sarcastically, and unsolicitly, told by this same woman, "There, that sounds like a good idea."
I can speculate as to why this happened, but in fairness, it would be just speculation. At the end of the day, I can say despite the good staff here, and the good selection, I wouldn't recommend this place. And that reason is because the woman at the front desk. There's other places with good stuff that won't make you feel like a burden, and won't treat you like you are beneath them. We are buying other people's used stuff in a concrete building, there's no...
Read moreThe Encinitas Consignment Classic Shops' staff working there seem unhappy, unfriendly, unhelpful, with attitudes, skiddish and noncommunicative. It feels very much as if their Manager tells the staff not to speak with anyone outside of their work environment. This is how you are made to feel and its not about being over sensitive as when there is a horrible tragedy in our Country your staff should be more sensitive towards those who cared, loved and supported Charlie Kirk and for what he meant to the youth of today. Your staff had showed insensitivity towards the death of Charlie Kirk and it does not seem like its them, most likely it has came from top Managers of Consignment Classics. Staff maybe were told not to engage in conversation and that is wrong. Poisoning of the well is not nice, it shows and it becomes obvious when a customer may be observed mourning the lost of an amazing man and if your staff does not share the same view, then your staff shouldn't try and intimidate that person and try to knock the customer over. It's a sad day in America and not a great time for Consignment Classic in Encinitas when Managers try to intimidate Customers, Guests, Veterans through...
