Grocery Outlet — Local services in Encinitas

Nice new Grocery Outlet location with open space and a good selection (although not the best I've seen). Where it falls short is the cashiers who clearly need training. I received almost no communication from the cashier, was not asked if I had a phone number for rewards or if I needed bags, etc. No sense of priority while a long line was forming behind me. Someone else behind me asked if another cashier was available and I felt like I was holding up a lot of people despite doing nothing wrong and having a normal amount of groceries. Just came home from the Grand Opening of the Encinitas Store. It's a.nice store but isn't what's advertised. The prices are 40%higher then at Whinco, 30% Aldi, 30%, Staterbrothers, and 15,,% Ralphs.. they're advertised as a discount grocery store for low income households but that's not the case, Dairy products and Produce are higher priced then local competitive markets, also they have very limited selections of most products bought by everyday shoppers, The only I can say is that it's just another grocery store to choose from. ...

Love the selection and price of items. There was an old guy following me around the store which kind of creeped me out. He didn’t have any items so he wasn’t shopping but every aisle I was in he’d appear there multiple times like he was leaving then coming back to watch me. Kind of gave me predator or kidnapped vibes, really not cool. Wish I had taken a picture of him.
