Visiting the Bicentennial Tower was an absolute delight. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the ease of access and convenience offered at this iconic location. The parking situation was straightforward, allowing for a hassle-free start to my visit. As someone who appreciates accessibility, I found it particularly appealing that there is an elevator that takes you directly to the top of the tower, eliminating the need to climb any stairs. This feature makes it accessible for visitors of all ages and physical abilities.
Interestingly, my visit coincided with election season, which added an unexpected twist to my experience. Upon entering the parking area, I encountered a Trump mannequin—a quirky touch that sparked conversation among visitors. It’s moments like these that make a trip memorable and provide a glimpse into local culture and current events.
Once at the top of the tower I was greeted with breathtaking panoramic views of the lake. The vantage point provided a unique perspective on the surrounding landscape, making it a perfect spot for photography enthusiasts or anyone looking to soak in some natural beauty. In addition to the stunning scenery, there are several historical posts that provide context and information about the area’s history. This blend of nature and education enriches the overall experience and allows visitors to appreciate not just what they see but also its significance.

The color of the sky and the color of the lit tower compliment each other beautiful. I took the pic through my car windshield and the picture still turned out nice. Then the 2nd night of my stay, on President Trump's Birthday, it was lit up in Red White and Blue ❤️🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲❤️. This tower has stairs to go to the top. The metal stairs are see thru; appropriate shoe wear is recommended... No high heels. 😉 The base of this tower is a gift shop/ice cream shop/restaurant - nothing fancy. There are stone like tables behind the tower with a beautiful view of the lake, Presque Isle State Park, etc... There are historic signs throughout the park. Plenty of parking including parking for the handicap/disable. History lovers will get a lot for value and meaning from this landmark than those...
