While I am sure that our experience isn't the norm for this restaurant, it's still disappointing for our visit.
Knowing that we had a show to be at by 7pm we wanted to beat the dinner crowd & give ourselves ample time by making reservations for 4 people at 4:30pm. So we were there and seated by 4:30 and at the time weren't many other people yet.
The waiter was initially attentive and took our drink orders but it did take a bit for them to come.
Our waiter then took our appetizer and entree order & the apps came out in a normal amount of time. We had the pork belly, buffalo cauliflower and cocktail shrimp and they were all very good.
But then we waited for over an hour.
We saw several other patrons that came after us, get their food, eat and leave. Our waiter wasn't to be found until we asked another server to get him for us. The manager then came out and apologized for the delay on the meals and that they were "just waiting on the pork chop" and they should be out soon. 15 minutes later three of the 4 meals came out but not the pork chop. It took about 5 more minutes.
So it's now 6:40 and we get our meals and have to hurry to eat but when I cut into the pork chop it was way undercooked. The steak that one person in our party ordered, was ordered medium rare but, probably due to the wait for the pork chop, was overcooked and more like well done. He had also asked for a glass of wine with his meal that never came. The other 2 meals were the salmon and they were good.
Credit however, to the manager. She then came out and apologized for the wait and took our drinks off the bill.
Again, I don't think our experience is the normal for this establishment but I do reviews based on my experience.
The atmosphere here is fantastic. Tables are at the waters edge and grounds are well kept but the service and...
Read moreThe waitress actually snarled at my request for an additional 4$ apple juice for my 11 year old daughter. Another employee threatened my ten year old when she took a tray of macaroons from the grab and go case that were sealed in Saran wrap and asked if they sold them individually. My daughter has special needs. She was incredibly respectful, I was standing right behind her the whole time. This woman was so horrible I had to tell my child that we couldn't have breakfast there because we don't patronize places or people that treat people like this. I was able to show her how to never act, so yay.
Room service is a joke. For breakfast they repeatedly just hung up with no words or put you "on hold" and never came back. We spent 3 hours trying to order room service. We eventually gave up and went downstairs. Based on the food, I am guessing they have a fancy convection oven they don't know how to use so everything is like a bad tv dinner. To get room service for dinner we had to go over to the convention center, take a picture of the QR code for the menu, still get no answer via our room phone, go to the front desk where they took half the order, stopped, then said we should go to the bar. Okay. So we go to the bar to order our room service, we kinda had to persuade him to take our order, but he did. Eventually it arrived in Styrofoam containers. Save yourself....
Read moreAs pointed out in previous reviews, the restaurant is torn between "fine dining" and casual lunch/dinner type styles. Their menu has no relationship between the styles as well as the middle section is all burgers and sandwiches and the entree section is something you would see of other fine dining restaurants in area. Ex. corn dogs and pretzels for appetizers with seafood alfredo that cost $29 for a main dish?
The food is very well prepared, thought out, and honestly fair portion sizes. Literally wouldn't count anything out quality or taste wise on menu. The pricing of the food although isn't comparable to similar restaurants in area and the dining EXPERIENCE and service aren't in line with the premium prices on the food. If you are expecting a classy sit down dinner on the water, I would more or less prepare yourself for a family tourist type atmosphere with flip-flops and t-shirts to be attending as well, and to not expect the standard in which their advertising provokes. They also charge you $3.50 for clean water per unit. When eating out and expecting an enhanced experience, of course they have the right to charge marginal amounts on their food to reach their sale's margins. But the only contributing variable worth their higher prices is their food, in my...
