UPMC Magee-Womens in Erie — Attraction in Erie

I just gave birth to my baby girl November 17th & have been going to Magees for my whole pregnancy! I’m extremely happy with my experience! The doctors during my prenatal appointments were extremely helpful & professional. I unexpectedly went to an appointment & they ended up moving me to triage due to high blood pressure. It made me extremely nervous, but the staff was very good with me. They ended up keeping me to induce me. When they moved me to my birth room, my nurse for the night Kate made me feel right at home. She constantly checked on me & made sure I was okay! Even when they switched shifts the other nurse was extremely nice & helpful! I’m so grateful with my birthing experience because I usually hear horror stories but mine was something I’ll remember for the rest of my life❤️. Although my baby has to stay in the nicu due to low blood sugars, I know she’s well taken care of! The nicu nurses (as well as all of the nurses) are GREAT with the babies! Although I can’t be by her side right now, it makes me feel a lot better that she’s in good hands! I know they’re doing everything they can to get her in great health! It also makes me feel a lot better that they have a camera on her so when I’m at home I can see what she’s doing at all times! A big thank you for ALL of the staff at Magees for not only making the birth of my daughter the best day of my life, but also taking care of me during my entire pregnancy!

The only cons I can think of is the hospital food isn’t the greatest & sometimes there is no available parking. Other then that my experience was AMAZING. I can’t thank the staff enough for making my...

Details of my own experience....hah to be frank...it was my most traumatic experience yet in life. (And I've done Psychedelics that caused some pretty terrifying moments...nothing like what I was about to experience.)

BUT the absolute angels of nurses and doctors here helped me through every single step of the way!!! My wife had to go into emergency C-section...our girl was messing with the umbilical and heart rate started dropping. We definitely were not planning on this. Everyone assured me and helped me through every step of the way, they took literally 30 min to complete the entire surgery. They let me in the OR room and I got to see...the best team of human beings I've ever witnessed. Working in assembly lines with very critical machines.... communication is everything. And for the first time I witnessed what seemed like a giant brain working together. Nobody even spoke besides normal talking....talk about keeping your mind at ease.

If you are worried or concerned... please don't be. As a male myself not knowing really anything about anything lol...I was terrified. Yes I was so happy but it was the end of the 9 month race and if anything happened I would have been mortified.

Thanks to these wonderful people at Hamot was able to get through the most traumatic experience I've been through...and came home with a very healthy happy baby ❤️

Thank you Dr. Zabo for everything you have done. You will be remembered as the one who saved my daughter. Also the rooms are 4 star. Would be a 5 start if it was a penthouse but close enough 😆 pullout couch rating 6/10 I enjoy...

Would definitely recommend and go back in the future. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful when it came to my hospital stay for a c section to welcome my son. Any questions or concerns I had, EVERYTHING got answered and I was talked to like an actual person! They have some of the best nurses I have ever experienced in my life, Wyann (possible spelling error) was all around AMAZING! He was beyond helpful, caring, and comforting. Words cannot express how thankful I was to go through this experience with. I had Buscek for my c section and she was all around amazing! She explained everything and monitored everything, she voiced her concerns and her reasoning behind them. Both Wyann and Buscek are a huge part of the reason if I decided to have another child why I would choose Magee Women’s Hospital! Other staff was beyond friendly and helpful as well, they made sure I had everything and more before I was discharged. I would personally recommend their services to anyone, thank you for doing...
