Visited The Erie Art Museum. Enjoyed the Daniel Burke: Callings--Six decades of art and education. This was a retrospective of the artists' work, who I was not familiar with, however, the art was curious and interesting. Our visit to the museum was brief, but we did take the opportunity to explore the "Art-O-Mat" machine. A $5.00 token placed into the slot in the front of a refurbished vintage cigarette machine presents you with a hand made art object created by an artist from somewhere in the world. I received a "folk art sculture". No visit to Erie, or anywhere, is complete without lunch! Molly Brannigan's pub has a great menu with stews and Guinness stout, potato dishes, fantastic burgers with flavorful fries! And chocolate peanut butter pie! I almost forgot the reason for the visit was to pick up paintings rejected from the spring show! Oh well, better luck next year!

We had our wedding here in Aug 2022 and we were incredibly happy with the entire process. Our wedding coordinator (and wearer of many hats at EAM) Laura F was an absolute delight to work with. She was professional, kind, and proactive. Anytime there was an update or decision to be made, Laura was on it. She even made sure the groom got an empanada at the end of the night before they were gone because she knew he was excited about them. I hope that everyone has a Laura to wedding plan with. The space itself is excellent for a ceremony and reception and allows for a lot of flexibility. Our guests were able to relax by the bar or on the patio, wander the museum, or take it to the dance floor. Highly recommend EAM to anyone who's looking for a unique wedding venue in Erie.

The receptionist said “ Nobody”s used that entrance in a decade!” So dont mistake the majestic facade with columns as the entrance—its actually on the side. I believe on East 5th street. Once inside its a visual feast! This art museum is huge and world class—make no mistake. Another small town wonder. (And just when I wanted to give Johnstown the crown). Plus plenty of cool stuff around it to make the trip worth it. Food, a vintage shop etc. You will adore peeking through the window at Talk Erie, a street level radio station with hosts who take time between chatter to wave at you! Fell in love and will visit Erie again soon!

My husband and I just had our wedding at the Erie Art Museum. Laura F was INCREDIBLE to work with and the art museum was the most perfect venue. We utilized multiple spaces / rooms, all the art was left up for our guests to admire, and the spaces were transformed to host our wedding beautifully. If you want a venue that makes you feel like you have transported to a high end event space in downtown Chicago, I HIGHLY recommend having it at the Erie Art Museum. Laura, we cannot thank you enough! Our day was perfect and we cannot stop reminiscing about it.

An interesting space of modern architecture at the entrance, with slanted ceilings and diagonal walls displaying pieces of art. The corridor leads to the elevator and beyond into a historic building of brick and concrete. Throughout the rooms and nooks fascinating artwork is presented. A wide old concrete stairway leads to the top floor where you will find beautiful Victorian architecture between spacious rooms with high ceilings holding even more art. Worth experiencing if you are in Erie.

Well curated, and a wonderful place to bring the family especially on Wednesdays when admission is free to all. The location is historic and fascinating with or without the displays for those who appreciate architecture. Also includes a "kids as curators" program that showcases work from area school children, and some interactive youth centered exibits that allow and encourage visitors to create and contribute.
