Harbor Freight — Attraction in Erie

Encounter at the Store on 3/11/25 at 10 AM

I visited the store and encountered two employees at the front: Tarry (working the register) and a Black kid with dreadlocks who was standing nearby.

This was my second encounter with Tarry, and I found him to be rude.

I asked for help locating an item and was told to go to aisle 12. Since I was in a hurry, I politely requested if they could show me where the item was. Both of them simply repeated, "Go to aisle 12; you’ll find it."

Frustrated, I asked for their names. Tarry had a name tag, but the Black kid with dreadlocks did not and refused to provide his name. At that point, the Black kid with dreadlocks used his microphone to call for someone else to assist me.

Another employee came to help, and I explained the situation to him, mentioning that the two employees at the front were rude and unhelpful. After finding the item, I returned to the front to check out. Tarry and the Black kid with dreadlocks were still by the register.

As I was leaving, both of them began taunting me. Tarry even yelled at me as I walked out. The Black kid with dreadlocks overheard my earlier comment to the employee who helped me and repeatedly said, "Oh, we’re the rude ones, huh?" multiple times while I was cashing out, as if trying to provoke a reaction.

All I had asked for was assistance in finding an item quickly and requested their names. Their behavior was unprofessional and unwarranted.

What a magical place full of China's finest tools. I'm like a kid in a candy store here, I don't understand why I keep wandering around and buying stuff I don't need. Stick to simple things that go thud, like sledgehammers, crow bars, tarps, bungie cords, etc., and you will not be disappointed, especially for the price, and especially on sale. Some of the more complicated machinery I would be wary of... Things with electronics or wiring, I wouldn't purchase here... Have had some failures in the past. They always seem willing to accept returns without question, and customer service is fine. Just don't buy everything you need for life here, support better companies when it comes to drills, saws, etc. You get what you pay for in that regard. They do carry good sandpaper, caulking, and WD-40 if you need some real quick, and it's the...

Great store,but I think they're going to have to start putting things in cages because people keep pocketing and shoplifting the countersink bits,I'm sick and tired of going to harbor freight and there not being any countersink bits in stock,Because their system says they have some in stock but there's none in the back room and none on the hooks in the isle where they're usually hanging,so someone is clearly shoplifting these items,I've went there every single day for two weeks straight Monday thru Sunday so that's 14 times and all 14 times they didn't have any in stock...HARBOR FREIGHT PLEASE DO SOME...
