Rooms: We booked the 2 Level room with 1 King Bed, 1 Queen Bed, 1 Double Bed and Balconies. The room was cavernous and clean - featuring 2 bedrooms (king on ground floor and queen and full in upstairs bedroom) and 2 en-suite bathrooms and balconies. The beds were comfortable and the 3-bed configuration allowed everyone in our party to have their own beds (a rare treat that allowed us to maximize rest and recharge). Our absolute feature is the in-room fireplace, an absolute treat to warm up to after a long day at Rocky Mountain National Park. One recommendation would be to incorporate more lights and wall chargers into the rooms - the rooms feel dark, even during the day (e.g., downstairs had 1 lamp, 2 nightstand lights, bathroom light, and a 'small' window relative to the sizable room meant the room felt murky).
Service: All staff members we encountered at Quality Inn Estes Park were professional and very friendly. I'd like to call out Everett, Will and Jim for going above and beyond. Everett warmly greeted us upon check-in and supplied a goodie bag with delicious saltwater taffy. Will was able to clutch in securing paper plates for us late in the evening as we forgot to get them when getting dinner takeout. We did notice an extra charge on our bill (see Note below), which was quickly taken care of by Rhonda Jurgens.
Location: Quality Inn Estes Park is conveniently located 5 minute drive from downtown Estes and 10 minutes (without traffic) from the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. There are plenty of food options (as well as a grocery store) a short drive drive away. I'd recommend waking up earlier if you're looking to get in the park. Even with Timed Entry Permits, traffic tends to line up pretty long (up to 30+ minutes) at the park entrance.
Value: We booked the room at $718.31 over 2 days ($359.155/day). While the room isn't inexpensive, it offered great value considering the Inn's convenient distance from Estes and a National Park. Compared to other lodging near (~10 min) National Parks, which usually come with a hefty price tag and poor quality rooms, the 2-level suite at Quality Inn Estes Park was almost a steal.
Note: We did encounter an issue on our bill (overcharged by a couple hundred). This was quickly taken care of by the hotel but we almost didn't notice it as we were in a hurry checking out to get to our timed entry. I'd recommend checking your bill matches your expected amount during checkout.

Read moreWhat a gem of a place! I like simple hotels that do the basics right: clean room, comfortable bed, hot breakfast, sane parking, reasonable price. Quality Inn near RMNP checks all these boxes, and goes above and beyond in several ways.
I had room 230, which is a slightly pricier single-king room with a large balcony. Two chairs on the balcony mean it can be enjoyed comfortably. Watching a sunset with a beer in hand was a treat after a long day. The big windows and glass double doors mean the view can be appreciated from inside the room, too. No elk approached the hotel while I was there (I only stayed one night) but there were plenty of deer roaming around.
Not every hotel is in Estes Park, so the views might make an unfair comparison. However, Quality Inn near RMNP excelled in several other ways too.
My room was spotless, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The room was larger than usual, and I never heard any of my neighbors at night. The quality of the decor exceeds the typical Quality Inn, and gives the impression of a higher-end hotel. The WiFi was easy to set up, and it worked reliably both inside and outside the room. The shower heated up quickly, and it was high enough for me to shower comfortably at 6'3". The full-size hair dryer was greatly appreciated. The complimentary taffy and water bottle are a cute touch as well.
Many things were usual Quality Inn fare, which is to say "totally adequate." The room included a dresser, fridge, microwave, and TV. There were plenty of power outlets in critical places. The standard-issue Comfort/Quality inn tiny shampoo/conditioner bottles get the job done, but they aren't my favorite thing (Mariott's refillable pumps are better for the customer and the environment). Breakfast was the usual Quality Inn fare - eggs, sausage, and a decent variety of pastries, bagels, yogurt, and the like. The dining area was bigger than most Quality Inns.
Every employee I talked to was friendly and helpful. In the morning I talked to Ted, and he was great (Unfortunately I forgot the name of the evening shift guy, but he was great too).
Quality Inn near RMNP does all the good things I have come to expect from a Quality Inn, but elevates the experience with its stunning views, characterful decor, and attention to detail. Five stars...
Read moreWe were in Estes Park for a family event and decided to arrive early. Given that our event was during the elk fest weekend, room bookings were scares, and prices were a little elevated. We booked in February, a full 8 months in advance of our October arrival.
The staff friendliness at this hotel is off the charts. The people at the desk, like Jeff, and in the breakfast area are very helpful, and the place exuberates honesty and hard work.
The breakfast is OK. Our first day, the eggs (looked like one eye), and the sausage (large patties) seemed to be under-cooked. The other two (2) mornings, the meat was bacon or sausage links, and scrambled eggs - these were cooked as expected. All other items accompanying the breakfast (waffles, toast, yogurt, coffee choices, cereal, muffins) were good.
Our room, 457, was comfortable. The bathroom area seemed a little tight to close the door. Also, the ceiling fan was used on medium because it was VERY noisy on high and would have kept us awake. Thus, it was left on medium. I forgot to mention this to the front desk during our stay and on check-out. Hopefully, the staff will see this review and fix it. I'm confident the staff would have addressed this concern at some point.
As noted below, parking for our room was nice and roomy.
There is an outdoor pool and jacuzzi on property as well as a fitness and business room. I did not use any of these and will not comment on these areas.
If given the opportunity to return, I probably would book again at this hotel. However, the price per day seemed a little steep for me.
Also, if you have any problem with your room, bring it up with the staff, and give them a chance to make it right.
I hope your experience is as good as...
