We stayed there two weeks ago and, upon returning there later on in the evening and really getting to investigate the room, we learned that it was in pretty poor shape. Some aspects were due to poorer-than-expected housekeeping (e.g., used tissues tucked between the mattress and adjoining wall, bathroom floor not swept, etc.), and other aspects were due to more long-term maintenance concerns that apparently had gone neglected for some time (e.g., broken blinds that couldn't be raised or lowered from halfway up, substantial corrosion/mold on the bathroom caulking, etc.). We were tired and decided to not alert management at the time since we just wanted to go straight to sleep. The next morning I reported these concerns to the front desk staff, and they directed us to contact their managerial staff by email. I did so later on that day, sending two separate emails directly to two different managers. Two weeks later and I still haven't heard back from anyone. I've stayed in plenty of dives back in the day, and this isn't a dive! I'm honestly a bit more miffed that one of two managers still have yet to respond to me. Aside from that, the house staff were extremely kind and personable. I honestly wish that I could make this our go-to for a quick stay up in Estes. Howevrer, upon some reflection, I'd rather pay a little bit more for a much nicer experience in the future.

We stayed at Expedition Lodge for a week while visiting Estes Park and found it to be a convenient choice. The location was great—only about 15 minutes to Rocky Mountain National Park and just a five-minute drive into town. Parking was always available, and we liked that there was a pizzeria right across the street. The 24-hour hot tea, coffee, and water station were also thoughtful touches that we appreciated. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which made us feel welcome. That said, there are a few areas where the hotel could improve. The rooms are simple and a bit outdated, and room service was only available upon request (and not always guaranteed if they were short on time). The free breakfast, while convenient, had limited options and was the same each day, which made it feel repetitive. We also noticed our air conditioner made a buzzing sound occasionally, which was a little distracting. Overall, this is a decent place to stay with kind staff and a very convenient location, I pull just use some updates and a few adjustments.

Pool is closed and has been closed for two week I was told no water in it.…….Breakfast that is free is simply granola bars and juice and cereal they said, there kitchen is closed. The beds, omg the beds are like sleeping on metal springs made back in the 60’s. Tossing and turning all night. No mattress protector on mattress just sheets and mattress. Bring a fan so u can actually sleep and not get woken up by every little noise in the place as the ac unit was made back in the 40s with no constant fan feature. All the hotels in Estes and I filtered one for my family that has a pool and hot tub and a breakfast buffet as pictured in Expedia and it had none of these top amenities that were advertised. The staff are nice which is why the 2 star, was veryyy let down by this. False advertising on Expedia is my big issue, fix your listing to be accurate.

We stayed in a king bed Room, Upper floor. Upon arrival we received a friendly and efficient check in. We were handed a map, WiFi code, and the amenities were pointed out to us. ||The Communal areas were welcoming and clean. There was an Open fire in the lobby, with seats, as well as fire pits and seats outside on an upper terrace. There is an indoor pool. Didn’t use it. Tea/coffee and water was available near the lobby. There was a laundrette, small arcade, board game/puzzle area and other spaces to chill. The hotel sold some snacks, microwave items, and gifts. ||Our room was a good size with entrance area and hanging space. We had a sofa in the bedroom, and a super comfy king bed and nice bedding. We had a Large fridge, microwave, large smart TV. A table and chairs for two, iron/board, dressing table/desk with mirror. The lighting and plug access could have been better but it was ok for a few nights. ||The bathroom had a spacious marble counter, large mirror with lights above. The Bath/Shower was a fixed cabin unit, small bath and low shower head. I’m 5ft 7 and had to scooch. We had Excellent water pressure and hot water. The hotel provided nice shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, face cleaning wipes, soap and moisture lotion. The towels were decent, fluffy and large (there was also flannels). There was a regular plug in hairdryer of good quality. ||The Room had a heated/air con unit. It was very cold (Mid Sept) once the sun went down, the heater got the room lovely and warm. The included breakfast was really good, great choice of hot and cold foods, super clean and fresh. The hotel is well located, only a short drive to Estes Park and downtown. ||Overall we felt this hotel was good value for money. It was exceptionally comfortable and well equipped. Our room looked and felt fresh and clean. It’s a rustic place with a mix of new and old. It’s clear the hotel really takes care of everything and we left...

We stayed here with a wedding block last weekend. The hotel was nice enough (needs renovations but it's nice for a mountain hotel). We had MANY issues booking under the room block. We had to call 6 separate times to try to get our reservation figured out. The first time we called they would not let us book because the wedding block hadn't been confirmed on their end. The third time we called, the wedding block was good, we asked for a confirmation email for our records and they refused to provide this, they told us that we were on a list. When we asked about pricing they would not give us any details AT ALL about the room rates, and someone eventually told us the room would be free which we found suspicious. We had to call again because other members of the block had mentioned the hotel was booking for multiple nights in a row, when we called back they had us booked for a two night stay even though we only wanted a one night stay. The day of check in we still did not have a confirmation email or any idea the price of the rooms. Some of our family got there early and they tried to charge them $400/night when the wedding block was $200/night. When we got to check in was when we finally figured out the cost of our room rate. Overall booking with this hotel was immensely stressful and we didn't even know if we were going to have a room. We found working with these people extremely frustrating because the staff would just defer to their managers almost every single time we interacted with them, it seems like they need more training or new tools to affectively do their jobs. Would not stay here again, BRIDES: I suggest working to find a different hotel to book with since the logistics of working with this hotel...

I went up with a group of friends last week and stayed at this hotel. We were very impressed with all the work they have done and the overall atmosphere. First, we were greeted by the very friendly desk attendant Sherman who handled our check in quickly and efficiently all while keeping up a wonderful conversation about our trip. When we went to our rooms, we found everything very clean, the hallways, rooms and common areas all clean, neat and inviting. Everyone said their beds were comfortable and slept well. We loved the huge game room and the room next to it with several tables, TV and business center where we could gather. The breakfast was a bit different than what you find at most hotels but very enjoyable. We really liked the different kind of choices along side some old standards. Jose and Sylvana did an outstanding job of keeping everything filled and clean even with so many people coming through. Again, super friendly and helpful people. There is an upper deck with seating and firepits with some amazing views. Very relaxing after a long day at the wool market. The saltwater pool was another pleasant surprise. It is indoor and heated, clean and plenty of towels. Overall, it was a great girls weekend away and I'll be returning with family next week. This is my new go to hotel in Estes Park! I spoke to the GM Tripp and expressed our appreciation for the changes to this older hotel and his amazing staff but wanted to make sure anyone heading to Estes Park knows. Definitely a great value with...
