WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER.
I would give this place zero stars if I could!
Upon arrival the attendant, Patrick, told my husband that early check in was an additional $20, but that "he looked cool" and because of that it would only be $10. I travel often for work and have stayed in hotels in almost every state, and have never been charged for an early check in, nor have I been given special service based off my appearance. Anyway, after that odd exchange, some more confusion developed and the attendant requested that my husband run his credit card several times. At this point my husband was feeling pretty leery of the situation and the attendant who offered no guidance or knowledge of hospitality, told my husband that "WE WERE NOT WELCOME." Why? Bc of some very simple misinformation that could have been avoided if the attendant was properly trained. At this point we should have left, but our card had been charged and the attendant said it was declined on his end, but the payment was pending with our bank. He insisted that it was OUR fault and that we needed to contact the bank, we obliged and after some time on the phone with our bank, found that it was in fact an error on the hotel's end (incorrect expiration date was entered). We decided to stay because we were exhausted and our card had been charged twice, so going to another hotel and paying 3 fees for one night wasn't really an option.
The halls leading to our non smoking room were filled with the smell of weed and the floor was incredibly dirty, tons of large pieces of debris made it very obvious that no cleaning had been done recently. Our room was no different. Large pieces of debris littered our floor, a huge water stain was also on the floor. The cloth chair in the room had very visible dirt and dust. The refrigerator was open, unplugged, and had an odor. The shower doors in the bathroom would not stay shut, I'm guessing the floor was uneven, and we had to wedge a wet washcloth in the door to keep water from going everywhere while we showered. The bathroom floor had a big sticky stain, so it obviously hadn't been mopped. The toilet seat wouldn't stay up while my husband urinated, so he had to hold in place. The toilet paper dispenser didn't roll, so removing toilet paper was impossible. The AC was disgusting, full of dirt, and rickety. The noise kept waking me while I slept and I love to sleep to the sound of a fan, but there was definitely something wrong with the AC and the noise sounded a lot like something was banging around inside of it. The walls are PAPER THIN and everyone hears every little sound (any MM fans out there?!). We were woken at 6:45am to the sound of our neighbors listening to music while they showered.
This place is not worth your time or money. Terrible service and unsanitary grounds, bad combo anytime, but especially during a pandemic. Sleeping in our car would have been a better choice.
After returning home and a few phone calls later, my husband finally got in touch with the owner of the hotel, Kumar. Whom was respectful, but unapologetic and unwilling to offer any resolution to the double charge nor the awful experience. My interpretation is that Kumar does not care for his customers and is clearly in it solely for the money. Save yourself the headache and go to any of the other numerous near establishments, where they care for your safety and experience.
WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER....
Read moreI stayed at this hotel last week and the experience was horrible. I work in property management and I can understand staying open while under renovation, but what I saw at Rocky Mountain Hotel and Conference Center was downright irresponsible. I will start with the rooms. The rooms were renovated , but fairly cheaply. The first room I was given, the toilet didn’t work. If I had the tools and parts, I could have fixed it, but I was on vacation and it wasn’t my responsibility. The gentleman at the front desk apologized and moved me to a different room. That room also was recently renovated, but the tile in the bathroom at the threshold was loose with sharp edges, the bath spout had mold around it and the bath valve wasn’t properly installed and took a lot of effort to get it to where the shower would work. In all, I spent about 20 minutes to get the shower working. I should have probably just left the hotel, but it was late and I was tired. The AC unit also didn’t appear to have been cleaned following the work done in the room, as it blew dust and debris into the room when I turned it on. Both rooms I was in had an adjoining room that was very easily accessible from one side to the other, fortunately no one was booked in either of those rooms. The common areas of the hotel was far worse. Ceiling tiles were water logged and hanging from the ceiling, the ceiling grid was sagging, tub access panels in the hallways weren’t properly secure. That gave me privacy concerns as there are drop ceilings in the bathrooms as well, giving easy access to anyone with poor intentions to invade privacy. Hallways had buckets of yellow/brown water in them, floors hadn’t appear to have been cleaned in a long time. There were doors and millwork leaning against walls in the hallways that could pose a risk to a person that may accidentally knock it down. The pool’s chemicals didn’t appear to be well balanced. The pool was very cloudy and could barely see the bottom. That is a serious safety concern as a child could be difficult to see if drowning. The hot tub as well had a very funky odor and also didn’t appear to be well maintained. They claimed to have a lot of amenities, but nothing was available. Also it had been brought to my attention that they were open and didn’t have a maintenance technician currently on staff. The front desk guy was the one making repairs when he could. Again irresponsible. I decided to book a room there, based on several reviews that I read stating how great the rooms were considering work being done to the hotel. I feel those were mostly false reviews, because I don’t know anyone willing to stay in a place in that kind of condition and feel great about it. One reviewer claimed to have a wedding there... I don’t know where they would have had it (edit: guests from a wedding stayed here, wedding not here) . I don’t know who would have been ok having a wedding there. I had emailed Cory, the general manager, about my experience there on Friday 6/7/19. I have not yet gotten a response back. I usually don’t leave reviews and when I do, it’s usually for something good I’ve seen that deserves praise. I leave this review for fair warning to anyone looking to stay here.
I’m giving the service 2/5 due to front desk gentleman trying his best to help, but not being able to provide much help as his...
Read moreFirst off, I am not picky about hotels, and I don't like giving bad reviews. As long as the place is clean and safe and the bed is comfortable, I'm good. The beds were comfortable here. That being said, this place did not meet my expectations.
There was a gap under each of the interior doors, and a good inch-long hole at the bottom of the exterior door. There was no thermostat on the ac/heat unit so it was a fun game to guess what temperature you were going to get at any given setting. The noise level was ridiculous. We could hear every detail of every argument our neighbors had (on both sides AND across the hall....I highly recommend counseling btw). The water temp in the shower was all over the place. It was impossible to actually enjoy a shower. We didn't have a 'do not disturb' sign so we made our own to hang on the door. We don't like having people in our room during our stay, and would rather clean up after ourselves. Our first night, there was a ceiling tile out of place in the bathroom that my husband slid back into place (which, btw, who puts fiberglass ceiling tiles in a bathroom? In the shower?! We can only assume it was a temporary solution to some unknown problem). The second day, that tile was missing. Not out of place. Gone. Husband spoke to the front desk and they said they were not aware of maintenance doing anything in our room, but they'd ask. We were assured no one else would enter our room. The morning after our first night, we went to grab some breakfast. The doors to the dining area were closed and there were about a dozen people waiting in the lobby. The sign on the doors said they begin serving at 7am. It was 7:15. There is complementary coffee in the lobby area so we thought we'd grab some and wait a bit to see if they opened. The coffee was all gone. We left, so I'm not sure what ended up happening. Hopefully it was just an off day. We were able to eat breakfast there twice later on during our stay and it was very good, and the gentleman taking care of everything was in constant motion and obviously cared. We swam once in the indoor pool, which was fine. When we entered the pool area, however, there was a bunch of personal items lying around on lounge chairs and tables, but no one was around. Room keys, purses, cell phones, a 6-pack of beer, clothing, etc. We swam for a good ten minutes before 2 men and 2 women came out of the women's locker room. Weird. A couple days later, my 4yo daughter wanted to swim again, so we gave it a shot. The heater on the pool was broken. The guy we spoke to was very apologetic and polite, but we were still pretty disappointed. There were a lot of other small details. Broken switchplate. Missing outlet cover. Broken floor tile. Random holes in doors/walls. No bath mat (I used 2 hand towels. Not the same effect). Terrible lighting. The only way to actually see anything was to open the drapes. Not ideal when you like privacy.
Overall, I would stay here again if I HAD to. I'm giving 3 stars because the price was lower than almost anywhere else, and because the staff...
