We toured the Shorter Mansion on our visit to Eufaula and if you like historic homes, you MUST visit this place! It was stunning. The entire street is just beyond words...it looks like something out of a Southern movie. When I picture a historical street I would want to live on, this street is it. The house was so beautiful, with a lot of furnishings and decor that just added so much to the house. We actually showed up just right after 3, when they closed at 4, and I was a little nervous about coming at that time, but the lady there was so welcoming and nice. She gave us information and gave us some coloring books and a book for my kids. She was really great. She also gave us some restaurant recommendations. The homes and guides in Eufala just aren't in the same league as those in Natchez. Also, we drove to Eufala from Chipley, FL.
