It's a new and nice building. Quick and good maintenance always. But several things to pay attention to before moving in. The rent increases crazily every year. They seem not willing to have people live there for long term. If you can find a good price and only need to stay for a year that's a good choice, otherwise run! The renew rent is even higher than starting a new lease around the same time. We saw someone moving out because of that can didn't know it would happen to us too. The building manager Pam literally makes mistakes every time we interact, including charging us twice for the utilities, charing us more, always putting wrong (and different??) names in the emails to me, putting wrong info in the lease, etc. Also it always takes her several days to reply to my emails, with 30% chance not replying at all. We found an apartment much cheaper and larger 15 mins away, so decided to move out last October. We advertised for the sublet and sent a bunch of people to the leasing office for tours (we returned the keys right after moving out). One of them literally told us that Pam was very annoyed that they heard about the sublet from us and are not interested in starting new lease directly from the office. Unfortunately we didn't find people to sublet our room, and it was until four months later that Pam told us we have an option to buy out the lease (it would cost twice the monthly rent but still much cheaper than what we paid). Of course we cannot blame her for that, but as a tenant we expected to be treated better. Pam just made life much harder for us. Thankfully we have nothing to do with the Main any more. Interaction with Pam was a nightmare. Won't recommend friends...
Read moreItâs a very nice building but they nickel and dime residents, and there is a fee for everything!! For example, I paid additional $500 âmoving feesâ when I moved down the hall. I was charged twice for pricey key fabs, was misquoted a fee for a simple accent wall that cost hundreds of dollars. Iâve been charged late fees when their OWN automatic payment system didnât work over the weekend, monthly fees for not sending a specific page of renters insurance proof...the list goes on. (My insurance company said theyâve never seen a building do this before and asked if they use âscare tacticsâ with residents). This is in addition to fees for trash, heat, ac, parking, water, service fees, renters insurance, storage, etc. There are a few building problems with things that donât work such as the thermostat, the garage sensor, the door buzzers, outdoor fire pit, along with safety and security incidents that a security guard informed me of impromptu entryway security. I would not complain about one of these things had there not been a double standard for residents who seem to be charged for everything. It is a very nice building. Maintenance is quick. They are on top of most things. The âluxuryâ is more reflected in the prices than...
Read moreI really enjoyed living here. If I wasnât moving out of state, I would have renewed my lease here 100%. Iâm seriously going to miss it so much! The location is convenient since itâs right across Metra Main St station and the purple line. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful! Maintenance responded always within a day. The package system is secure and convenient with their locker system. The cleaning staff (Maria) is so friendly and she is literally cleaning the common areas, hallways, etc multiple times throughout the day. They offer heated underground parking and it is a must if youâre not a local and is a real lifesaver during the Chicago winter! Another plusâ the gym has a Peloton! Thank you Pam, Hina, and Danielle for making my move here...
