After losing our beloved orange tabby, Jax, we weren’t sure our hearts were ready to open again. But then we met Bear—a 2-year-old sweetheart we adopted from Paws and Claws Rescue—and everything changed.

From the moment we brought Bear home, he has been pure love. He is gentle, affectionate, and has a calming soul that has brought so much comfort and joy to our home. He’s become the perfect companion to our other cat, Olive, and watching the two of them bond has been nothing short of magical.

Paws and Claws Rescue made the entire adoption process so seamless and filled with care. You can tell how deeply they care about every single animal that comes through their doors. Bear was clearly loved and well cared for during his time there, and we’re so grateful for the work they do.

There are so many incredible cats out there waiting for someone to take a chance on them. Adopting Bear not only healed our hearts, it reminded us how many lives are just waiting for love and a second chance. If you’re considering adoption—do it. There’s nothing more rewarding than giving a deserving animal a forever home.

A cat I had found and took to the humane society in Elkhart Indiana wound up all the way in Evanston with the wonderful team at Paws and Claws. They were able to find a phenomenal foster match who made the former dumped kitty feel right at home! She quickly adjusted to being a spoiled house cat after some months on the streets. After asking around and following leads, I received a phone call from Ashlynn and Jeffrey who were able to reunite me with the cat I had found. I only spoke directly with Ashlynn and Jeffrey who were so patient and helpful; the rest of the team who I saw in passing were also warm and welcoming!

This rescue cares so deeply for their animals - making sure the pet and human will be a good pairing, making sure the cat will always have a place to go back to, and following up with adopters to make sure they and kitty are settling in together well.

PLEASE don't hesitate to set up a meeting with any of their adoptable cats! There are spacious and quiet meeting rooms so you can casually meet and play with their adoptable cats or pick up some of their Paws and Claws merch to help these lovely cats (and people!) with such a great cause of finding...

I recently adopted the sweetest kitten from Paws & Claws, and I can’t say enough about how wonderful my experience was with this rescue! From the moment I walked in, it was clear that the staff truly cares about the well-being of every cat in their care. The shelter is clean, calm, well-organized, and designed with the cats’ comfort in mind. You can tell that they work hard to provide a safe and loving environment for all the cats waiting for their forever homes.

The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to answer all my questions and guide me through the adoption process. I could see that they genuinely care about each cat's personality and specific needs, which made me feel confident I was making the right choice.
