Dropped by Mugu just to check it out and was wildly surprised at what a casual and fully featured game shop it was. Warhammer, Magic, premier board games, this space has everything you need for a quick stop or an entire day of shopping and gameplay! There's so much gameplay space it reminds me of the old WoTC shop in the U-district. The dude at the Cash register, Michael, was helpful, knowledgeable, and old-school. We swapped stories about gaming back to the 90s! Come, shop, hang. This place has it all.

Good srore. Lots of playing tables with terrain. Plenty of varied stock. Not a lot of variety of TTRPGs but lots on boardgames and wargames. Polite staff, fair prices. I like the baggies of miniatures they have on the wall.

A Wargamer's paradise...., and that's not an understatement. Knowledgeable staff, world class selection and the price is right (Support Your Local Hobby stores!). These guys are doing it right.

Product availability is pretty good and the store seems clean and organized. This is great, so good on you guys for that. Though, as a note to the owners and staff:

You need to seriously take some Customer service training or rework your approach at handling customers in general. You all have most likely worked retail and you should know how to treat people with common courtesy. Just because your business is based on fantasy games and magical worlds depicted through trading card games and all sorts of escapisms, does not mean that you aren't running a business with a budget and room to improve.

There is a stigma in the card shop retail industry that you should forget about being treated well because realistically, most of these places are ran by man-children that refuse to take a mature approach to their career and finances. This doesn't need to be the case. It's quite easy to fix and stop.

When selling a product for profit, you need to be intelligent and read your Customer to see how they respond to different stimuli. Do they shop with you a lot? Do they like being addressed by their name? Do they enjoy you taking the time to learn their interests in products, so you can reccomend new ones? There are many things you can do to make them feel welcomed and engaged with your staff. This leads to happy customers and return buyers. The more they like shopping with you, the more they will come back and do so. Even if that means that they pay more at your shop because they want to be a part of your busines's community so much so that it makes them pay those prices with you indefinitely.

I think you guys could do much better and raise your profits substantially given your location and potential customers in the area.

Good luck and I hope this reaches you guys. Because stagnation is in your future and it would be a shame if you went out...

Great local card shop with a robust friendly gaming community.

My family has been coming here for a few months at least once a week. Generally we come on Thursday for Pokemon night and they are so friendly. Bonus points for giving us each a play together pack each week we come and play!

We got started on Pokemon collecting (after a while of just boardgaming) because of a build-a-battle deck night where the friendly regulars helped us build a deck and took the time to explain the game dynamics with a boatload of patience.

After getting a couple packs of Journey Together at the build a battle night, and being a regular part of the community we started getting some perks like special release week discounts on new sets (reserved for the folks who are there all the time) and that means a lot to us.

With the way that Pokemon and all card games are right now, there are no shops that are offering anything less than market price for new releases except for pre-orders. Mugu definitely stood out for doing something special for their regulars.

Also they have a super friendly Pokemon expert there who has helped us understand master sets, taught us how to read the cards correctly, and has even helped us complete some lists with her own set! Thanks Riley for being a super star.

Wrapping this up, I give Mugu 5 stars because they treat the folks who are actually part of the community great and they have reasonable prices given the economy and the standard for the industry (don't hate on one company for practicing market pricing, there is a reason that is the market price - and businesses need...

My experience was some time ago, but it's left a bad taste in my mouth for a long time. I've been slowly getting back into LGS after a long time of not collecting or playing much, and my experience here was exactly the kind of experience that turned me off of the gaming scene a decade ago.

The employees could not have been any less interested in having me or my group of friends coming in and browsing. They wouldn't answer questions, were incredibly brusque when trying, and were 100% far more worried about their personal conversations behind the counter than any customer interaction.

The store is spacious and the selection is interesting, but the service is terrible and the prices aren't much better. (And I'm not the only one feeling it, judging by the amount of dust gathered on some of the games we looked at).

Far and away the least welcoming LGS I have ever been to, sans the one that turned me off gaming for years. This feels more like an excuse for a small group of friends to game together. Neither I nor my friends who came in with me were clearly the people they were looking for or even wanted in the store.

I wish I'd read the other one-stars before coming in. They're unfortunately...
