We did like this place a lot and the food is decent. We have enjoyed a variety of their offerings like their burritos, quesadillas, and tacos. But lately ordering through their preferred online system DinDin and giving them a generous amount of time to put together food has been ultimate fails. We had a simple order of a few burritos one rainy weekend and timed it so that we could make the drive from running our errands, and they were 20 mins behind on our order and we had put in the order 30 mins ahead of time. Today's incident pretty much made us not want to return here again. We ordered the 20 taco pack deal and put pick-up time for about 30 mins from the time order was placed. I got there right a little after confirmed time and the gal at the window said "okay, just a minute" and closed the window. About 15 mins later she opened up the window and handed me a bag, we have ordered the 20 taco pack before and know it comes in a big pizza box, this was obviously not it. Before I could stop the girl she already shut the window on me. I had to ring the doorbell and she took a bit to come back to the window. I told her it wasn't my order and since there was a language barrier I spoke what Spanish I knew to clarify. She acknowledged what I said, told me she would check, grabbed the wrong order bag and closed the window. I stood in the freezing cold waiting for our order for another 25-30 minutes, which during that time a few of their staff looked out at me from inside. I finally saw the guy hastily put together the pizza box and knew they done messed up. It took 1 hour from time of order to when the gal brought me the taco pack!! She never apologized or anything!!! To add insult to injury there were no salsa or limes to be found, this was discovered when we got home and were starving. Sorry Washington Burrito, you lost us as customers. Sadly my husband tipped them pretty nicely for this order :( We will just spend the extra gas money to go to...
Read moreEdit 3: taking it back to a 1 star, it was bland and unfullfilling and today mine and my wifes guts are not okay. Im going to have a hard time giving this place another chance.
So I went during the grand opening to give it a shot, and I am not impressed. I think they may have rushed the opening. My wife and myself got 2 carne asada tacos, a washington burrito, and 2 chicken enchiladas. It was their grand opening and the line was really long but thats what happens when you claim to be the best, we want it! So I am giving them some slack but, its still a 2 star. The whole layout was sloppy and greasy, not dripping but close. First the tacos, they were okay, lots of meat but few onions, tomato and cilantro quite a few fatty pieces making it difficult to enjoy fully. Second we had the burrito, I felt it wasn't there, it was a blob. I have had way better. The worst was the chicken enchiladas, they were way to salty, I think they need to dial it way back on the salt, I couldnt eat them. I know they are brand new and need to dial in the ingredients and get things just right but definitely not the best in Washington or in town. I am gonna give them another try in a few more weeks when things arent as hectic and Im hoping it lives up to its name.
If anyone remembers the lady who used to sell burritos out of Rucker Food Mart, she had the best burritos around by far. Miss her a lot, hope she starts up again.
Previous review: theres a 5 and 4 star rating for this place but its NOT OPEN FOR BUSINESS yet. Even though their sign has said Grand Opening for over 2 months. Until they open im holding a 1 star since the tease isnt fair. No one...
Read moreNot to be one of those people but… being from San Diego, I do struggle to stomach the vast majority of Mexican restaurants in the greater Seattle area. Too frequently they cater to the unseasoned crowd who I guess are either intimidated by words like “pollo” or maybe even can’t understand that it’s chicken. Corner stands and trucks are where you usually look around here for hard working cooks of more authentic and quality food. But as far as Mexican spots around here go, Washington Burrito is pretty good. I can forgive the fact that they call a California burrito a “Lynwood burrito” simply because it’s done reasonably well for SD standards. So far the breakfast burritos have been the most consistent, and again at least reach a bar where I’m satisfied and don’t feel like I’ve got a burrito sized hole in my life. To be fair to some of the criticisms, they have occasionally wavered in terms of quality in the past but I’m hoping they can figure out the kinks and get things running more smoothly because if you go on a good day, it’s pretty solid. I can’t speak to employees being rude or not understanding me though, I’ve never seen that and wonder if these are people just wanting a problem to complain about. Beyond that, it’s nice to have a 24 hour spot around. Give it a shot. It’s nothing fancy but it’s not...
