If ZERO stars were possible, that is what they should get! I called the pharmacy 5 hours ago to call in a prescription for a patient. I spoke with the pharmacist directly. The prescription was not there when the patient came in to pick it up, and they had no record of my calling them. I called the pharmacy again to have this medication filled for my patient, I have been on hold 20 minutes to speak with the staff, as I write this review the pharmacist has not picked up for OVER 25 minutes. This is disgusting and appalling, and UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES would I ever recommend this pharmacy to anyone. As I continue on hold, someone picked up and when I said that I needed to call in a prescription for a patient, they put me on hold AGAIN! Well after 30 minutes they finally took the prescription for my patient, while speaking with the pharmacist about what had happened, the line went dead. ...
Read moreI was a loyal customer of this pharmacy for 5+ years but recently transferred my prescriptions to Amazon pharmacy because of the bad service.
The last straw was when they billed my insurance for a medication that I didn't even pick up. The pharmacy associate on the phone claimed that it was an insurance error and not the pharmacy's fault, but that's clearly incorrect.
In addition, when I asked why the medication, which I wasn't even expecting, was filled in the first place. She claimed that a former doctor sent the prescription. But this is a lie because I'm not even seeing that doctor anymore and confirmed with their office that they didn't send any prescription.
Now, I understand that mistakes can happen and that this pharmacy is pretty short staffed. If they would simply admit to that, then I would have no problem. Making up lies to cover their behind, however, is simply unacceptable.
While we're at it, one thing about CVS pharmacy that always annoyed me was their text messaging system for refills. I keep replying no to the messages so that they would stop the reminders and even told the pharmacy associates to stop the text messages. Yet they keep coming and pretty frequently too. If someone at CVS corporate headquarters is reading this, please do something about your text notification systems.
Sorry for the long rant, but I've had enough and have nothing to lose by switching to Amazon at this point. It's a shame because their 24-hour pharmacy service is really convenient for those of us who live nearby. And if they can get their act together, I'd be willing to switch back later. But don't count on it happening...
Read moreI am there every month and you're pharmacy team, from cashiers, assistants, technician, & pharmacists are always willing and able to help me out if I have questions or concerns & I had always gone to Walgreens but January 1st of 2016 they stopped accepting my insurance and was happier to find out that the closest pharmacy to my house, CVS, accepted my insurance.
Pro's & Con's - only from my opinion PRO- the team is ALWAYS willing to help, however, you just have to understand they are constantly dealing and working with many other patients simultaneously so therefore be patient and you will be tended too.
CON- 4pm-6pm weekdays is usually when I'm able to make it there, but even though they will say 20-25 min, aveeraged out its more like 35minutes. PRO to this CON That being said shop around a little if need be or grab a slice of pizza next door.
