The Railyard Tavern — Restaurant in Fair Lawn

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Railyard Tavern in Fair Lawn, NJ, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly bartender, Allan, whose customer service was truly outstanding. He recommended the Filet Mignon with mashed potatoes and spinach, and I also indulged in a dozen delicious Oysters as an appetizer. The food was served promptly, and every bite was a delight. The steak was cooked to perfection and simply melted in my mouth.

What sets The Railyard Tavern apart is not just the incredible food, but also the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owner has gone above and beyond to ensure that I always have oysters available whenever I visit, and I have built a great relationship with him over time. The diverse crowd that frequents this establishment is incredibly friendly, making every visit a joy.

I live in New York, but I make it a point to visit The Railyard Tavern whenever I can. In fact, I recommended it to my brother, and now he and his wife visit weekly. It's amazing how Allen, who not only tends the bar but also serves tables and hosts parties, knew exactly who my brother was and even remembered his usual order.

After two hours of trying to get them to deliver an order in which they and uber eats had huge miscommunication on, they never found a way to deliver our food and kept on passing the blame on uber instead of fixing the situation. On top of that they wanted me to place the order again and pay again after over two hours of back and forth. Unreliable customer service, it's a shame because at first they promised to correct the situation by making sure they would deliver our order on them. Once I requested a refund, which they suggested I do, they call me and tell me they can't deliver.

UPDATE to previous review. Never got my food delivered. Once again both uber eats and the restaurant passed the blame to each other. To top things off I get a voice mail at 12:15 am from restaurant personnel with a very unprofessional and condescending tone sarcastically thanking me for their well deserved 1 STAR review. Instead of following through with what they promised (delivering the food by them, instead of uber, promised by their staff) after the initial screw up was reported they continued to pass the blame to uber eats. Totally unprofessional establishment, what a shame. Wasn't expecting the harassing phone call (after midnight) complaining about my review. Seems like your efforts should be more focused on your customers instead to avoid the negative review, which was well deserved. Next up is the Better...

I am thrilled with the amazing customer service at The Rail Yard Tavern! I had ordered two dishes from them through Uber Eats and Uber Eats completely messed up. Not only was the delivery two hours late, I was on with customer service for over 20 minutes trying to figure out where my order was, and they had no idea! However, The staff at the tavern called me 3 different times and updated me on what was going on. If they didn't call me, I would have had no idea what was happening! I was so grateful that they called me as many times as they did. They felt awful that the food didn't get to me hot as they would have liked. They even went as far as to remake the dishes to have them be hot...but the Uber driver messed that all up. The food was outstanding. It is SO hard to find good gluten free food. And I had yet to find a place that makes good gluten free quesadillas...until now. OMG the mussels were the best I have ever had. Due to their amazing customer service, and delicious gluten free food I will 100% be coming back...but on my own probably not...
