I'm not much of a wine person, but my sister is and she really liked the wines here. You get 6 complimentary tastings and they specialize in fruit wines. My sister loved the rhubarb (she bought 2 bottles) and thought the mead was pretty good. She also got one of each of their grape wines. We were sad the pomegranate wine was sold out, since we both wanted to try it. The rest of the store was interesting, with lots of quirky cups, shirts, magnets, coasters, napkins, signs, and more. My sister was especially delighted to find a pharmacy related one (she's a pharmacist). It came as a shirt, coaster, and napkin but we would have preferred a magnet. An excellent place to visit if you're in the Amana Colonies.

I like their wines more than the winery. We did a wine testing but had to sit outside in the patio probably due to Covid. It was a small patio setting with not much to see or enjoy. However, they may have a better set up inside. At least we love the wines. The employees were very friendly! The wine tasting comes with a free souvenir wine glass. I bought a peach and mango after the tasting. Unfortunately they were running out of my favorite dandelion.

Nice winery. Haven't been since covid but we used to come yearly and buy a case. They don't have our favorite blend anymore. Now they charge for tastes. Not super friendly like it used to be. Still a nice selection and some good wines. This time we only left with 3 bottles tho verse 12 to 24 bottles....yes several times we bought 24 bottles lol. Used to be our favorite

I drove out of my way to come here. LOVE the winery and all things in Amana!!

Ackerman has the BEST wine out there!! I live 250 miles away and STILL will come here occasionally because it is so fabulous!

I have visited Amana since I was very young on road trips with my parents and my dad started us going to the winery in Amana. With him it was always BlackBerry, and that is not my favorite but the memories it brings up warm my heart and soul. Ackerman provides samples.of each wine that you want to try. And, I must confess, I usually try the ones I'm interested in of course, but always sneak a sample of the BlackBerry for those memories. My dad has been gone since 1992 and it is so amazing to toast him and remember.

They are reasonably priced too! AND have a box special where you can purchase bottles in a box and save even more over their already reasonable price! Now dont fo thinking this is 3.00 a bottle cheap. No it is not. BUT for quality wine with amazing bouquet and all around fantastic staff, Ackerman is hands down the best I have found.

And just for reference for you, there are 4 wineries within 50 miles of.my home. I still prefer a road trip to Ackerman! Amana has wonderful shops all around! And I will be at every one before I leave town, but my first and last stop of the visit is ALWAYS...

I recently had the pleasure of trying Fireside Winery's new Fireciders, and I can't express enough how amazing they are! As someone who is gluten-free, finding delicious ciders is always a joy, and Fireside Winery's offerings have truly hit the mark.

The standout for me was their new Oktoberfest Firecider. The flavor was incredible, capturing the essence of traditional Oktoberfest beers with a unique cider twist. Even my husband, who is a big fan of Oktoberfest beers, was thoroughly impressed and enjoyed it just as much as I did.

The blend of spices and rich, full-bodied taste made for a delightful experience. It's clear that Fireside Winery has put a lot of thought and care into crafting these ciders, and it shows in every sip.

I highly recommend Fireside Winery's Fireciders to anyone looking for a gluten-free beverage option that doesn't compromise on flavor. Whether you're a cider enthusiast or just looking to try something new, their Fireciders...
