Marion County Public Library — Attraction in Fairmont

From the outside the library seems small in comparison to many other Main libraries of other counties and towns but once you step inside you forget about how compact it looks and you lose yourself in the rows of Books and movies and games and cds.my personal tastes are horror sci-fi and Fantasy as well as comic books and graphic novels.the library has one of the biggest collections of all three.especially monthly issues of a wide variety of comic books and tons of graphic novels both juvenile and adult. They constantly do events that are open to the community and in the lower level they have shelves of books for sale.most of the time when you think of a library book Sale the images conjured are of battered cast off titles that have very little appeal but not in this library.I have taken home books with profound historical value books of classical literature complete bound works of some of the masters of the written word along with ephemeral collections from the classic era of country music and books of humor,cartoon collections and forgotten children's classics.add to that the book mobile and all the online venues that you get access to at no cost And you will come to the conclusion that this little library is a HUGE benefit to fairmont and all of...

First class facility and library staff. I request numerous books..if the library does not have the book, the staff will create an inter-library loan request and/or create a purchase request, if necessary. As soon I know that one of my favorite authors has a new book coming out, I immediately put a book request in via the library app. I love the anticipation of receiving the email that my requested book(s) are available. I also enjoy the library app so that I can see my position on the "hold"...
