I've waited a week to leave this review. Almost didn't, but decided that I should share our experience. Slow service, a guy came in, ordered, ate & left before my order was correct. The waitress wrote everything down as we spoke, incl exactly what was to be on each sandwich, but kept coming back to ask us to verify what we ordered? Almost $35 for 2 sandwiches ,1 order of fries & 2 lemonades. Both orders were still wrong. My friend was given a deep fried mushroom appetizer, instead of having mushrooms on her sandwich. So another delay. More bun than steak, huge piece of gristle in 2nd bite, I said onions only, no mushrooms or peppers at all & it had several pieces that made my lips & mouth burn n go numb. I threw up within minutes & they made me another one, but I couldn't taste it. My mouth hurt, I threw up twice more before I got home and it was 3 days before my stomach was " normal" again. We won't be going back. P.S. As for the " atmosphere ": I've gone in several times a yr since they opened. Every time a different cook, different fries, different whatever. It has less than 6 tables & the ladies bathroom is a "stall" about the half size of a reg stall. It's a TINY BOX ok? Smaller than a construction outhouse( & most American adults), but it's always clean & the food was always good enough to go back. Dean Martin /70s style Italian restaurant style music. Not the classic rock/ current pop we were used to hearing there & completely different than the eclectic assortment of sports shirts, beer pub signage & Egyptian pictures hanging on the walls. This visit was sponsored by the Twilight...
Read moreWe came here for the first time yesterday and let me tell you this place is a Hidden Gem! The burgers are NOT skimpy little patties and they are fresh ground meat that is hand-formed. My husband got the billion dollar burger and I got the my kind of burger I think it was called. The meat had a great taste and was nicely seasoned without being too overly seasoned. The bun was perfect and held up nicely to the two patties and toppings without getting soggy . They definitely know what they are doing in the burger Department ! I got onion rings and my husband got French fries. The onion rings were amazing and crunchy and possibly homemade filled with a nice whole onion slice inside . The only thing that could have been better is we were expecting fresh cut french fries but the ones they had were not bad. That is the only thing I would change but it was not enough to take away from the meal because they were still good. Fresh cut french fries would just be the perfect addition to their their perfectly crafted burgers . Our waitress was very pleasant and patient. The place is a little small but it was cozy and most importantly clean. And for a very fair price we left with full bellies. I would venture to say this is the best burger place in Fairmont and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good burger. Not only am I going to be a customer but I will definitely be a...
Read moreJust left there. Still hungry. Didn't get one bite to eat, but they charged me. All I ordered were the fried zucchini planks. The waitress brought out my date's food. I patiently waited. When he was done with his food, we got up to ask for our check. The waitress THEN brought my food out, set it on another (empty) table, and brought me my check. Not only did I never get my food, she charged me for it! I left not only hungry, but also with less money in my pocket. I literally had to pay for a meal they never brought me. It's one thing to leave empty-handed and hungry. It's another to have my money taken on top of that. I'm not rich enough to afford walking away without a bite to eat and less money in my pocket. Nice. We were literally the only people in the place. Service was nothing less than insulting. And, for the record, my date said the chicken wings were cooked in old grease and weren't great. I wouldn't be able to comment on the food quality because I didn't have the opportunity to try it...only...
