Although this great small town park hosts a plethora of activities each year, my family & I have gathered 14+ years to celebrate the fourth of July 🎇🎆 .... Rain or shine, you can find us playing with our children on one of two playgrounds located within the same park!! 😊 We round up our little ones after some lengthy playtime, and walk just few hundred yards to visit the food trucks, malt ice cream trailer, and lastly grab some glow sticks/light up toys for the firework celebration kicking off @ dusk each year! 💜
Today is Monday evening July 3rd, 2023. We arrived at park around 8pm, which gave all of plenty of time to enjoy the playgrounds as we waited for the fireworks to begin @ dusk... It benefits me in no way my saying this fyi, but it must be given proper boasting bc the fireworks show is so darn good & worth it alone!! Big props to local fireman and officers hired to keep this a very SAFE and enjoyable event each year, bc they execute it beyond successfully!!
Thanks to their scheduling we were all able to join together for our favorite July 4th event of the year, and that leaves us all day/night tomorrow to further celebrate the fourth! Tomorrow night we'll probably gather once more, and enjoy the Muncie/Yorktown...
Read moreMy two brothers and I grew up one block from the play acres park. It satisfied us as kids. We were always at the park. It was our backyard in a way. Baseball games, the concession stand, Easter egg hunts, tennis courts, picnics on the picnic tables, the kite flying field, the forbidden dead mans woods, football and track field, the boy scout hut, and one year a frozen ice skating rink, old men's horse shoes, basket ball courts and the playground with the scary big slide. Today it accommodates us as adults. Its beautifully maintained and provides for family reunions, social events in the shelter house, the walkway, fourth of July events, all divisions of baseball and softball, and most of all for the James Dean festival every September it provides the car show and now main events on stage. Today I live two blocks from the elementary school which is part of the play acres park. We spend a lot of time in the park. The town of Fairmount takes pride in our park. It's basically the center of...
Read moreI think that this is an excellent place to take your children and family it's a very large park for the size of Fairmount I feel the play equipment is new lot of different things you don't see other places for the kids to try and you play on! It's also got a excellent setup to accommodate the covered virus seems how there is a park on both the North and South side of the school so more than likely you do not have to be bumped up next to a bunch of families you can spread out and enjoy the outdoors as well as the park posts a numerous amount of events one being the James Dean car show at the end of the summer which is the most recent visit I had to the play acres Park all together I would give the park a 10 out of 10 take your family enjoy a picnic play Love great...
