I tried Bad Dad Breweries at an Indiana on Tap event this summer and was eager to go have dinner here even though it was an hour away. Unfortunately, it will be my last time having Bad Dad unless it’s free at a future On Tap event.
We had multiple groups at our table and after one ordered a deep dish pizza (a large portion of their menu) the other groups were told that they weren’t doing any more deep dishes that day. This was at 5:30 on a Saturday. Before the dinner rush on what is probably their busiest day of the week. No explanation to why, we were just told that it wasn’t happening. After we settled for other pizzas, we realized that the sauce and topping was so thin that you could see the crust in the middle of the pizza. We were there for almost an hour and a half and never got any refills. The fourth time that we ask the waitress (Damaris) for refills, she had one receipt in her hand and said that she couldn’t carry four drinks at the same time. Which is ironic, considering she brought all four of our drinks out together the first time. That piece of paper must’ve really overloaded her. I will try to give her the benefit of the doubt and guess that she was having a bad day but her attitude towards customers takes that away and it doesn’t fix the terrible pizza. My advice is only go if you live close and eat before you go. EDIT: Derek with Bad Dad did reach out to address my issue so I do want to give credit for that. I did not take him up on his offer to “make it right” though. I do not live close enough to the location to revisit after my first experience. That is no fault...
Read moreWow!! This was not our first visit and will not be our last. As always, terrific service! However, we did not arrive until after 5pm today. As soon as we walked in the door, we were told they just ran out of pizza dough. While we were disappointed, decided to sit down and have a beer anyway. When the server came to take our drink order, she also told us that the young lady at the next table wanted to offer us her pizza that she had not yet received. We told her no thank you, that wasn't necessary. She insisted and said she works there and has the pizza all the time. We had a gentleman from another table come over and offer us the extra pizza they had not touched that they were taking home with them. He informed us it was part of the Sunday Special. He also told us that today and last Sunday, they were the busiest he has seen it on a Sunday. We thanked him but declined. As we drank our beers and talked about where else to go for dinner, the young lady's pizza arrived and she had the server bring to our table. We graciously accepted. It was delicious!! But the main reason for this review is the young lady! I don't know her name, only that she works there, and was there with a little boy eating and visiting with the servers. She did Not have to give her pizza away, but chose to share with two couples that she heard say, drove down from Fort Wayne. So Thank You for your kindness!! And I hope your boss sees this review and treats you as special as we felt today!!...
Read moreNot sure what all the fuss is about. Ordered 2 New Yorkers (1 with mushrooms) and a Canadian. The sauce is the best thing about the pizza. The sauce was very good. The crust was good. Pepperoni was good and the sausage was as advertised, spicy. Maybe a little too much for me but, it did say spicy. Had to look hard for the added mushrooms. I didn't try any of the Canadian. The kids seemed to like it. I will say nothing was left over to take home. Ordered some ice cream and it was good. If you are expecting service like being seated, someone taking your order at your table, someone bringing plates, napkins and drink refills without being asked then you are at the wrong place. That is not how it is done there. Plenty of employees buzzing around just not for service. Now I know. I guess leaving a tip was more out of habit. I probably should have left the tip at the order counter because that was really the only place where I felt like a customer.
Nothing wrong with product. Product was fine. Easily at least 6 or 7 wait staff working the dining room. Seemed to be enough to me. Customer service just didn't seem to be a thing. I usually eat off of a plate not a pizza pan. Maybe you should go back and read the first half of the review and take responsibility for the part that was in your control. When you speed a hundred bucks on a meal a little service goes a long way. No salt here, just an honest review of...
