Barney Wood Bark Park — Attraction in Farmers Branch

Great idea, Farmers Branch and a big thank you to everyone who made this park possible. What a great place for dogs to come run and play and splash around with each other. So far, I have noticed most people pick up after their dog and everyone is friendly. Great group of people and their doggos come in the mornings.....and throughout the day, really. There are waste bags available, water fountains, restrooms, splash pads in both the small and large dog areas, multiple areas to sit both sunny and shaded and just a good large area for running, chasing, fetching and even some digging (dogs will be dogs). It seems the patrons are responsible and I hope this park continues to be a clean, safe and fun place for the community to get together and begin to know each other and let the dogs run it out at the same...

It’s a very spacious dog park. They have a splash pad and little shaded areas. They even have a small dog park too! I’m giving it a 4 because although it’s an excellent dog park there are a few things to consider. They’re right next to a skate park (which I love! RIP Shelby!) BUT if you’re dog is scared of loud noises they will get a lot from the skateboards landing on the ground. Next is some owners, not all of them but some don’t like their dogs getting wet.. there’s no enclosure to the splash pad so be ready for you dog to be wet if you come here. Also they have a lot of mud in this field after rainy days. They do have clean off hoses in the front so you can rinse off your pets paws. I always make sure to bring towels when I come here so as long as you don’t mind all that, you’ll love...

My dog and I love this location. Every time we go, the people are so nice and understanding to each other. I recommend this place often to family and friends. The splash pad for large and small dogs is a great way to cool down your dog in the summer! The large dog park is pretty massive. It would be nice to have a second splash pad or doggy water fountain on the other side of the park. The location also has restrooms and a hose area leaving the park to rinse down your companion. My dogs enjoy this location so much. Even though we ran into a few over stimulated moments. However, everyone is nice and does there part. Talks to each other and makes sure we all still...
