I purchased a car on July 7th, 2023, I signed all the needed paperwork and the salesperson by the name of James Brooks said he would have my title sent to the state to transfer as I was an out-of-state customer. After my temporary tags expired in September of 2023 I went to the DMV to get my license plate and they informed me they had no record of a title for my car let alone any documentation under my name. I called and emailed multiple times requesting James Brooks to update me on why the state had not received my title yet. No response. it reached the point where I would call another service line eg; (parts, finance, or sales) and have them transfer me to him directly after I asked if he was available and they would reply "Yes he's right here" or "yes he's at his desk, one moment" the phone would ring, but I would get no answer. That's when I realized he was just ignoring me. My emails, voicemails, and phone calls. I then filled out a transfer of title paperwork from my county office to request my title as the DMV advised me and sent it over to the credit union the vehicle is financed under. They told me that they could not submit my paperwork because they had no record of my title, however, I am still paying for the vehicle and the credit union is in the state of Michigan, so how do they not have my title??? This is not a credit union out of state it is in the state of Michigan but no one has any idea not even the state's secretary's office what is going on??! I continued calling and leaving voicemails for 6 months i was not able to make it up there due to being in a car accident and moving to a different state. In February Robert Love the supervisor contacted me telling me that my paperwork was never turned in and they found it in the employee desk, we agreed if i sent him the proof of credit damage this had done he would refund me, which amounted to over $9000 He sent me over a new title I told I was due to a motor code violation I was in the right them pay off the credit union and purchase the car or refund me and turn the car in. I took it to Michigan personally in June where he told me that he doesn't want to submit this complaint to his legal team because it will make him look bad, how about he sweeps this under the rug and pays me 2000 which is not even half of what I requested the disrespect to even think that I would accept that or "push anything under the rug" is uncouth and distasteful and he should not be representing a company. I called him In July requesting a status update on my title and he informed me he misplaced it. I told him that I was moving forward with legal action because at this point there is something fishy going on. I just left the dealership and drove 5 hours away and you "misplaced" a title no you just don't want to submit it because you guys received that vehicle by odd means. It is now September 2024 and I haven't heard anything from Robert Love nor the company. I am extremely sick of this run around he is doing with my finances and I am tolerating...
Read moreI strongly recommend avoiding this dealership for service. Hereâs my experience:
I initially went to this dealership because I noticed oil mixing with my coolant. They diagnosed the issue as a faulty oil cooler and charged me about $1,300 for the repair, which included replacing the oil cooler, a coolant flush, and an oil change.
After a few weeks, I needed a new battery. When the mechanic replacing the battery noticed oil still present in the coolant, he advised me to return to the dealership for follow-up. Upon returning, the dealership claimed there was no issue with the oil cooler they had replaced but suggested multiple coolant flushes over future oil changes due to severe contamination. However, they quoted $831 for the coolant flush this timeâa huge jump from the $240 they charged initially.
Frustrated, I sought a second opinion at a trusted service center in my hometown. The mechanic immediately noticed bubbling coolant and determined the system was still contaminated, with severely damaged tubes. He stated this was something the dealership should have identified or warned me about during the initial repair.
I returned to the dealership again, this time speaking with the service manager, âLenny.â When I mentioned the $831 charge for a coolant flush, even he seemed surprised. He agreed to recheck the car. After nearly a week with the car I received a quote for $3,300 to replace the coolant system hoses and the valve cover gasket. This issue, according to other mechanics, should have been flagged during the earlier visits.
At this point, I decided I didnât trust them to work on my car anymore and went to pick it up. When I arrived, they handed me a new key fob without mentioning my original keys had been âmisplaced.â It wasnât until I got home that I realized I no longer had the original keys, which included one for my parentsâ house. When I returned to inquire, Olivia, who I had been working with, admitted she meant to tell me about it but forgot.
Throughout all of this, I remained patient and cooperative, but the dealership has been unresponsive, negligent, and excessively overpriced. Every time I dropped the car off it took almost a week or longer to hear back and I had to email because they never answer the phone. Iâve researched the parts and labor costs, and their prices are far higher than other service centers. I feel they caused additional issues with my car due to negligence and failed to provide proper service.
If youâre considering this dealership, proceed with caution. Iâll be sharing pictures of the quotes I received and may consult a lawyer to address the mishandling of my car and unfair pricing. After reading other reviews I have noticed that I am not the only one, I also may send a complaint to the State of Michigan and...
Read moreThis dealership heavily relies on BAIT-AND-SWITCH tactics â consider yourself warned.
I was initially contacted by a representative claiming they were running an "in-store special" for Monday and Tuesday only. I asked for a rough idea of pricing before making the long drive, and was told a Grand Cherokee lease would range between $169â$199/month. Based on that, I scheduled an appointment for Monday.
I was assigned to Dan Hazen. I attempted to reach him multiple times throughout the morning before my appointment to confirm the pricing I was originally quoted. He didnât return my calls until I contacted the dealership directly. When he finally did call back, I explained that I simply wanted to confirm the numbers before driving in. His response was dismissive and laced with attitude: "Let me check our online advertisements."
Really? You're a salesperson at the dealership, and you need to check online ads to give a customer pricing?
It became immediately clear that Dan realized I wasn't an uninformed shopper who could easily be lured in with misleading quotes. His demeanor turned cold and uninterested.
Despite all of this, I still asked him to get me a quote. I leased my last vehicle from this very dealership and currently have a Chrysler lease return, so I qualify for nearly every available rebate, including the employee discount. Dan took down my info and promised to call me back with numbers.
What I got was jaw-dropping: he called me back just minutes later with a payment quote of $461/month. Thatâs over double the original price range I was quoted.
When I called him out on this, he tried to deny that I was ever told $169â$199/month and even claimed he could pull the call recording. I told him to go ahead, listen to the recording, and send it to me â because that would clearly prove my point and it did!
For context: Iâve leased or purchased over 20 vehicles in the last five years and have never encountered such a misleading and unprofessional experience. This is particularly disappointing given that Iâm a returning customer.
I would not recommend working with Dan Hazen â in fact, I wouldnât recommend this dealership at all. Their tactics are deceptive, their communication is poor, and their customer service is borderline hostile once they realize youâre not an easy target.
While there may not be an immediate legal remedy for deceptive practices like this, Iâm seriously considering pursuing legal action or at least filing a formal complaint to hold them accountable and prevent other unsuspecting customers from being taken...
