Great Lakes Coney Island — Restaurant in Farmington Hills

Purchased the largest breakfast they had and asked for an extra egg. Didn't get the extra egg. Hashbrowns weren't done 1 jelly packet for 2 pieces of toast. 1 package of salt and pepper. I called and asked to speak with the manager with the complaint. The young lady who took my order and money said she was the manager. I explained my issue and she said all they could do was give me the egg and more hashbrowns. I didn't think that was good enough because they were not delivering the replacement food to me. I decided to take the loss. However, upon continuing to eat the food I find a hair in my hashbrowns. I call back and the young lady pretending to be the manager was offering the same solution. While I was trying to get my point across; a man got on the accused me of hollering at the waitress, wouldn't let finish my complaint and hung up. Now the waitress was just saying how difficult it was for the restaurant to keep up with stocking the restaurant. How, soon they forget that gas cost customers to drive to their place of business and when they make a mistake with their products they should take the loss and make it right. I will not return to their place of business. I tipped them twice. Egg...

We just had brunch here today and it was fantastic! The atmosphere is very clean, family oriented and the staff all had a positive, upbeat attitude and had fun while working-the vibes/atmosphere were chill, and they cared about taking care of customers/proving excellent service. Our waitress was one of the best we’ve ever encountered (her manner was very friendly, easygoing, and she was prompt in service, and knowledgeable about the menu items and timing of food, and excellent at multitasking! She’s a gem!). The food was delicious: sunny side up eggs were perfectly cooked (not burnt), the scrambled eggs were fluffy, even the broccoli in the skillet was perfectly cooked (not too soft or crunchy), and the service/food was fast + hot! The owner was on site and you could tell that he and the staff work really well as a team! These family run restaurants are very hard to come by in todays world of bad chain restaurants, so we will definitely be back to support this “mom and pop” diner, with great prices as well. The staff are phenomenal! Cannot say enough about this place! Joey, Cheyanne, & Alyssa have been great every time I come in. Smiles & warm welcome every time. I tend to be a difficult customer, ordering off menu, or ordering large amounts of food.

Their ability to accommodate to go orders, and their attentiveness during your meal sitting in is great!

I’ve had a fair amount of the food, and it’s all been top notch! Thus, multiple return visits. Every time consistent experience.

If I could give 10 stars I would! Great Lakes Coney is the place! The small town feel, excellent food, and staff are phenomenal!

Take it from the fit guy who has multi-plate orders. Healthy options to tasty options... both will be met here!
