This is such a fun roller coaster and one of the best at lagoon. It starts with a left turn, then it goes into a vertical launch. It starts with an insane vertical launch that is unlike anything you have ever experienced. The wild thing is that you start to get floater airtime when you are launching up the tower. When you get to the top of the tower though, you get intense ejector airtime. Then, when you come back down the tower, you get another pop of ejector airtime. Next, you head into an ejector airtime hill that even though it is trimmed, still gives you a short but intense pop of ejector airtime. Then, you go into a banked turn which is not that forceful. After this, you go into a zero g roll which also gives you a very unique sensation. It is profiled in such a way that gives you hangtime which feels like upside down airtime, but also laterals. Then you turn up and to the left into a mid course break run. This is what kind of kills the ride. You still have a decent pop of airtime after the breaks. However, then you go into some half pipe turns, then an s turn. Next, you turn to the right, dip down, then back up into the final breaks. You sometimes get a decent pop of floater if it’s running fast. This is a really solid ride except for two things. First, the restraints on this ride are really uncomfortable and continually tighten up on you. This is a hard ride to go on if you are taller. Second, the second half of the ride is very boring and not exciting. If it was as thrilling as the first half and the restraints were better, this would be a 5/5 for me. It would also likely be the second best ride in the park only followed by Cannibal. As it stands, it is my 5th favorite rollercoaster at Lagoon after Cannibal, Primordial, Roller Coaster and Colossus. I still recommend giving this a ride but be aware of the restraints and how the second half of the ride is...
Read moreI sincerely hope this review makes its way up to Lagoon’s corporate leadership, because immediate changes need to be made to the safety restraints on Wicked.
The current lap restraint system very poorly designed. Unlike other coasters that click into place with fixed positions, Wicked’s restraint can be continuously pushed down further and further, which means the force of the ride can continue to shove it down further during the experience. This can cause significant pain and, in some cases, even breathing difficulty.
Most recently, my son rode Wicked and had a truly traumatic experience. At the bottom of the main drop, the lap restraint was forced down so hard by the ride’s g-force that he immediately began screaming and crying. He continued crying throughout the ride, and after getting off, he was visibly shaken. When we checked, his hip was extremely red and irritated from how tightly the restraint had been pressed against him. His hip stayed red and painful for a couple of hours. I regret not taking a photo of the injury to document it.
Lagoon, please take this seriously. You are putting guests at risk. This isn’t just a discomfort issue—it’s a safety hazard. If nothing is done, you’re likely facing legal consequences, and more importantly, risking someone getting...
Read moreI went on this ride two days ago and my shins still hurt.
This ride is very fun, but I have one very large critique. This ride will attempt to snap your shins in half if you are 6’ 2” or around that height or taller (That is my height), specifically just anyone who has long legs. The seats for this ride have bars in front of your legs as well as the regular restraints, and no other ride has this kind of leg restraint. This restraint will be fine if you have short legs, but if your knees pass the end of the seat, the restraint will push your shins into the bottom of the seat and there is nothing you can do about it. I have tried going on this ride with the restraint a little bit more loose, but because of the speed of this ride every turn your restraint will tighten and tighten no matter what. So at the end of riding this I will be pushing against the restraint trying to release my legs to stop the excruciating pain I feel in my shins. I haven’t explained this too well but if you have long legs, be warned. My 3 star review is deducted from this ride only and not the park itself, if they fixed the seats it would be a 5...
