If visiting the park, it's a great convenience. However we weren't visiting the park. So my review is definitely not going to be typical. We are traveling in our RV around the US and needed a place to camp near Salt Lake City for a conference I was attending. It's summer. Kids are on vacation. And this is the place to be! So for us, we found the campground to be quite crowded. Literally campers practically stacked on top of each other.
This wouldn't bother most people visiting there because they are off plying inside the amusement park. But for my husband who was working remotely from inside the rig, it was challenging. He said it was like camping inside a horror movie, with constant screams of terror off in the distance from folks riding the roller coasters. Ha!
But overall we certainly can't complain as that's why the campground exists! And it wouldn't be fair to judge it based on that. Our real reason for the 3 stars had to do with how crowded it was and how tight the spaces are to the neighbors. We even had to be moved because we couldn't fit into the first site they gave us. And we weren't sure we'd be able to fit into the 2nd one but with a lot of patience we finally were able to park.
People are right on top of each other and if you even slightly drive to the left or right, you risk hitting all the cars parked right on the edge of the road driving inside.
On the plus side, it's very shaded, the cell service was great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I'm not saying we'd ever go back, but if we were into rollercoasters and had kids, we may. Which we are neither. It served our needs fine and everyone seemed to really be...
Read moreWe checked out this morning. Stayed 2 nights, first time here. We did the back in grass site with water/electric. Let's go with the pros first: walking distance to Lagoon Theme Park, discount tickets for purchase at check in (bought the 2 day for $140 each), bathrooms are nice and clean with showers, love the woodsy feel and all the trees and flowers, clean campground. Now th cons: we got the tightest back in site possible, the water/electric hookup is so close to the front, one way lane throughout campground, people park so close to the already tight road, close to the highway so we could hear the traffic noise inside our RV, the campers next to us were extremely loud (kids screaming and running around outside after 11:15pm AND they were running through our site with their flashlights), dump area is tight as well, I almost rolled my ankle when walking in the grass by our site in evening due to this square metal thing in grass, and lady who sold me 2 day tickets at check-in told me that bottom part was for the 1 day and the top portion was for my 2nd day so don't lose it WELL on 2nd day we're in line to get into theme park and was told I have to get out of line to go to ticket booth to turn this in to get my second day and then get backin the long lines...I was irritated. Will I stay here again if ever in the area...nope and not...
Read moreWe arrived at the empty RV park with about 2.5 hours left of the amusement park being open... upon reflection that it would cost the three of us over $200 to go into the park we decided to pass, we just couldn't justify that. The amusement park was really the only reason we booked into this place on our way to Zion so we were disappointed. We were one of maybe 4 other campers in there, it was very empty. Bathrooms were acceptable for a night stay, nothing to write home about. There is nothing else around there so we spent the afternoon playing cards instead of riding roller coasters :( ||Oddly, despite the few of us staying there, they grouped three of us side by side which we thought was weird. Our "neighbours" to the north of us had at least 4 kids which were noisy and annoying so it would have been nice to be spaced out a bit. We decided to order dinner for delivery just for fun and when we realized we needed a couple of small bills for the drivers tip we popped over to the store/ reception building and she refused to break a $50 for us. I asked her then, if we purchased some snacks/sundries could she do so and she said NO. It was really bizarre to say the least, made zero sense. Other than the pricey amusement park there was nothing else to do, no pool and no games. If we were travelling through it's unlikely we'd...
